I played with colours on my phone photo editor. By moving the sliders up and down I got lots of light fringes like oil on water. Just wondering what else I can do with it.
New paintings and regular art updates.

I’m channelling Christmas and painting little canvases as tree decorations. They need more layers and the colours sorting out….. They will have green ribbons on them so they can hang off a Christmas tree. Backs to be painted black to blend into the shadows…

I don’t actually remember! I do like the colours. I think it’s ferns…. I like the idea of negative images. Like they are indented….. I’m going to have to find the app!

I have a few images of my old paintings on slides. I would like to get them transferred onto a digital platform before they deteriorate too much. This painting was actually bought by our old MP, Mark Fisher, and I was really proud to have known him. Unfortunately he passed away a few years ago.
It’s funny how you find things and they bring back old memories. This painting was done of a friend. I deliberately tried to alter the angles of the window to make it more atmospheric. I would like to do more portraits if anyone is interested.

As you know I love painting. All my art is available for sale. If you want to contact me I would be happy to discuss commissioned pieces of art.
From landscapes, animals, portraits and even space, I enjoy creating unique paintings. I’m pleased to think that my pictures are going to good homes. I want my art to fit with what you want.

You know the inkblot test? Rorschach test? Why does this photo remind me of rabbits doing a Morris dance? Or laying the drums?
Photo of the sunrise about a month ago I think, with overgrown hedge and trees.
I can see ears, eyes, mouth and nose. Mind you I’ve always seen patterns in wallpaper. Sometimes I see a splodge and from then on I can’t get away from the image of Marge Simpsons blue bin, or a horse rearing…. Why? I don’t know.

I love house leeks, a type of succulent that makes a rosette of leaves. They are often found growing on walls and sometimes even roofs. They are called succulents because their leaves are swollen with moisture, a bit like a cactus…. Some have weblike coverings, as if a spider had spun a web across the top of them. These plants look good on old fashioned rockeries. Stones and rocks with succulents peeping through the gaps.
This photo has been manipulated to duplicate the pattern. I like doing this and seeing what comes out of it….
When I drew this image in ArtRage oils, the free app, and then Layout to duplicate it, I didn’t really know how they worked. And yet I’m pleased with the results. I guess sometimes simpler things look better. My hubby reckons I overwork things, but I just think I want them to look finished, I am not exactly a perfectionist, but I know when somethings done…anyway I hope you like these….

Each of these drawings were done slightly differently. The first and third in ArtRage app and the middle one used a photo which was drawn on with Sketcher free app.
Faces are interesting to draw, the first two are from life, the third is imagined. I’ve tried using free flowing pens and different textures backgrounds. Colours are tending towards the blue/green end of the spectrum.
I also thought about which side light falls on a face. I usually draw with light coming from the top right if I’m imagining an image, or from whichever direction it comes from if it’s from life.
More to follow as I create them.

My 31, one inch drawing challenge sketches. I’ve done them with Stoke Urban Sketchers. I have really enjoyed it. I’d be up for a November challenge. Its like keeping a diary, I didn’t realise how much I’d do in a month. I’m not posting the final drawing on the challenge page until tomorrow, but I thought I’d include it here.
