Frozen fountain

When you go for a walk and the local fountain looks like this, you know it’s cold!

It’s taken me four hours since I got in to stop shivering. I’m sitting here with a tee shirt, jumper, thick trousers, a fleece and a dressing gown. My hands are still chilly.

I’ve got a few more photos to post, but only after something hot to eat and drink….

Trees at sundown

I went for a damp walk this evening. I like walking near trees, down little lanes, watching the sky change as the sun set behind the clouds. Walking past evergreen Holly it’s branches laden with dark spikey leaves. Past old Ash trees with their festoon of Ash key seedlings. Using an umbrella as a walking stick as I walked down our steep hill. My toes are throbbing and I only did just over 6000 steps today but I’m on 6/100 days so just 6% done so far!

Evening walk

The sun was setting as we got onto the canal towpath. Nowadays there are little led lights dotted along it, like a set of will-o-the-whisps showing the edge of the canal. Very useful as you don’t want to accidentally step in to the water! I only added these photos because they are lovely reflections and skies. There are more I might add later….

Self (60)

I was up till six am painting a self portrait in the hope of entering it for the Sky Portrait Artist of the year competition. By Five thirty I was shattered so I only vaguely painted in the background. It’s not really finished, but I thought it had a bit of something about it… But when I tried to register later the site wouldn’t accept my email address! I ended up contacting their enquiries but when I tried to resubmit I was passed the deadline! I might think about more work on it and enter it for a local open exhibition….
