New bed

Blimey! I’ve just had a new bed delivered. My old one way about Xx years old (too embarrassed to mention it’s actual age). What a palaver! Moving furniture and boxes out the way. Making sure there were no trip hazards in the way. Emptying divan drawers of stuff that could have come out of the ark, were those cushions from the 1980s? Then because I’ve gone from a king-size to a double do I need to get new sheets and a duvet? do I need new or will the old ones do? Will it be too soft or too hard? A friend of mine has given it me and she lives miles away so I didn’t get a chance to try it out. All I can say is that it looked comfy as the men carried it upstairs, but I’m too tired to get up there and try it out!

2 cats

Medium cat (left) and large cat (right) like to sleep on this chair. Usually there is a single occupant, but tonight they are sharing. The little cat is on the floor just exploring to find somewhere to settle down.

I’m glad they tolerate and cope with each other, the small cat is nervous and sometimes has a paw raised to her, but there’s very rarely a squabble and usually they chase together to pay. I think I will go  and settle down too. I’m struggling to keep my eyes open, the cats have the right idea. X

Missing cat

My cat has gone missing. He’s a large cat with a distinctive smudge on his nose. He might have got shut in somewhere if he’s found a place to sleep in the shade. I’ve looked round the garden, round the back of the house. I’ve knocked on neighbours doors. I’ve been down to the pdsa but they haven’t had him handed in. I rang the local vets, but they are closed till Monday so I rang their emergency vets but they are in Nantwich. He was abandoned by his previous owners who would not speak to the cats protection league so I was never able to get his microchip changed over. He’s a very loving cat, very big, he might have gone up to someone. All I can hope is he might be asleep somewhere because of the heat. But then he comes in for a drink and food? I don’t know what to do. Posted to Facebook.

It depends

What time do you go to bed and wake up currently?

I’m not sure when I’m going to bed if I’ll be able to sleep. So therefore I don’t know what time I will wake up! I’ll try and get to bed at the same time each night but then anxiety or pain or other health issues can keep me awake.

Basically I try and sleep on my sides or back, but then find I need to turn over, before having to move again. Never really getting comfortable. I also generally wake up once or twice during the night, which means that I often don’t get back to sleep again.

After a restless night I may sometimes stay asleep till lunchtime. It’s a good thing that I’m not working in a nine to five job!

2 cats

Sharing the settee, two cats, relaxed and sleeping. They do tend to hang up on their sister though. So she sleeps upstairs and these two snuggle down on the crocheted blanket.

The big cat has started snoring. The middle one sleeps quietly. The third,, small one, hopped up the stairs a few minutes ago. The house is settling down for the night.
