The kittens were starting to grow, getting ready to pack their bags and move in with their new parents.
I came across this photo today. They were so mischevious. The one with the black mask is still called Bandit, the new owners changed the other ones name.
I sometimes see photos of the two girl kittens, but I’ve lost track of how the boys are doing. Their mum and uncle are still here safe with us.
People seem to think there are only identical twin. Born on usually the same day, unless the Labour is long and continues into the next day. They are from one fertilised egg which splits in two and goes on to form two babies (or in the case of other multiple births, more, for instance triplets). Identical twins might not fully seperate in the womb and can end up being conjoined, that is joined together. Sometimes at the head or the body. It is possible to operate and seperate them if they are not sharing organs. This is not always possible though.
There is another form of twin. Non identical. These are two seperate eggs that are fertilised at the same, or almost the same time. Non identical twins are called fraternal twins. They can be a boy and a girl, a boy and a boy or a girl and a girl. They are brothers and sisters born at the same time, but not exact copies. As they grow up their differences become more apparent. They may be bought up wearing the same clothes…. But they are not necessarily the same shape or size. As with identical twins they may have similar interests or completely different ones.
Life can be interesting, a lot of how we live is often influenced by how we are bought up, not just from our genes. It’s the old nurture verses nature argument.
I’m feeling peaceful…
The sun’s out and my hubby is too. Gone for a cycle ride with his brother. They were talking for hours yesterday. Much as I love him I don’t really want to hear again what toy tanks they played with when they were little, or them comparing toy train anecdotes! It’s quite relaxing sitting and painting. I’m just hoping they stay out for a while longer. They’ve gon for a ride down the local canal towpath so it should be easy riding in cold but bright conditions. I’ve done it in the past but my hips and knees don’t really like it anymore. Peace. Perfect peace.
These two boys were my female cats kittens, they were rehomed together and now they are about two and a half years old. I occasionally see photos of them, I do miss them. They are like larger versions of their mother. Both boys are really handsome. I wish I’d been able to keep them, and their two sisters that went to another home.
