Never forget
Flowers are the best
To give me rest
To lift my mood
When the day is done.
To smell sweet scents
And heady airs.
Glorious colours
Melding together
Brightening my day.
Giving me calm.
New paintings and regular art updates.

The fog around my brain
settles gently like a cloud
touching my shoulders
as if sitting on hilltops.
The grey fug tightens round my head
stopping me from thinking
and moving
tying me down to my own space.
Glued down with sticky oozes
thoughts trapped in flypaper.
Mind chilled and frozen.
Sliced into shattering slivers.
Stopped still
clock stopping
held in abeyance
until the world starts spinning
me pinned to it
like the proverbial butterfly on a wheel.

She gazes up
Forever cat
Happy to be home
Visited the vets
A few days ago.
I am forgiven now
The visit is forgotten
Time has given her repose
To rest and be calm
And let me be with her.

Sky outside my door
High flying clouds
Dapple the air.
Blue as a sailors coat
White like foam on the sea.
The tides of air
Stir the skies ocean.
Liquid, fluid, rapid, vapours.
Witches brew
Or Wizards cauldron.
Dust motes,
Sun dogs
Fogs
Sky…..
‘La Ciel est Bleu’
My hubby says…

Strong tree,
tall tree
Sycamore.
Standing proud in the park.
Green tree,
branches waving,
fluttering.
Never still.
Giving shade,
cooling air,
softening the edges.
Buildings round
have pleasant views.
Park trees,
pleasant days
sunshine and showers.

With such a large crop,
bowls full to the top,
I tried-
To decide-
what to do with them?
Each cherry on a stem!
Salad with cherries
fills my belly.
Coleslaw with cabbage
with cherries added.
Now I’ll make jelly
with added cherry,
summer fruit,
so much loot.
Birds are merry
They have cheery
Cherries too!

Waiting for the phone to ring,
Waiting for the vet to call.
What will be the scan result?
Will he be on medication?
Worried, waiting, hoping, aching.
Shall I ring, or shall I wait?
Will the treatment be too late?
Nervous, thinking, imagined perils.
Cat must be OK, I prey.

Cold and grey, day
Not got much to say..
Yet,
Grey as it can get?
You bet.
Till tonight’s sunset?
Maybe
We will see
Unless the sun does shine
Fine.
Then happiness will be mine.
So clouds roll away please,
Give us warmth and ease
Some pleasure we can seize
Till we can visit seas
And oceans.
Give us notions
Of calm and peace
Please.

In a time when photos
were printed on paper,
and swords
were made of cardboard
and silver foil.
Hooped earrings were in fashion,
And bangles jingled.
I wore an eyepatch on my glasses
and pretended to be
Long John Silver,
or Captain Hook,
Red beard
or some other rapskallion…
Oh what fun!
To be young again,
and silly…

Funny photo
Another day of lockdown.
Trying to look cool
Keeping safe
He is funny
He makes me laugh.
He is mine
After forty years.
