I’m muddled and muddied
Confused and twisted
I’m all out of coping
My strength has diminished
But I have to cope
Twist the strands of hope
Back together again.
Find my way through the fog
Out of the maze
Into light.
New paintings and regular art updates.

I’ve just been to Growthpoint, it’s a place where you can go if you suffer from anxiety or mental health issues. I was pleased that the bee paintings I did on small circles of wood have all sold. I managed to buy some plants, they are for sale all the time but today was an open day. So I got eight plants for 50 pence each. I’ve got to sort the yard out, I hope to do that this weekend if the weather is OK. Then I can plant the ones I bought. Today is a good day.

Nice to see the sun shining on clouds tonight, it was good to come out after 9pm and see some lovely colour. Posted it onto the cloud appreciation society Facebook page.

Imagine branches floating high
Just hanging there with no tree by
To support their weight
An oddity
Somewhere alien do you cry?
A myth, a fantasy, a spectral trick?
No all I did was crop the pic
Doubled up the photo twice
Got this image looking nice!
Voila an abstract play of tree
Made quite simply, by me!

Added texture and duplicated the primrose photo. I do like doing this sort of pattern. I like the way the crinkles in the leaves are enhanced. I used photodirector, incollage and Instagram to change the image.

Photo of one part of an allium flower head that had opened up before the rest of it. I just managed to get a decent shot of it, I was shaking and the wind was blowing it about, I guess the movements cancelled each other out!

No it’s a friends knee!
My friend was wearing a pair of trousers with abstract cats on it. At one stage the folds in the cloth made it look like a giant, one eyed alien cat was staring at me.
I can imagine a world with different coloured beasts, each of them monocular or cyclopean. Perhaps they have no need for binocular vision, especially if the planet is always foggy so you never get to see great distances. Or an ocean world with dim views of reefs full of eel like creatures? Colours would be similar to the way octopuses or squids change when attacked or showing emotions.
Whatever you want to think, but I do like the bizarreness of this photo.

I was feeling spiky
A bit annoyed today
Something like a cactus
On a hot summers day.
Then I thought of flowers
The way they emerge
Sometimes out of nowhere
When the cactus has a surge
Of growth when it’s ready
To make a new plant
It made me feel happier
My mood more valiant.

With my sister. We went outside looking for auroras. A lot of people living nearby had taken photos and posted them on Facebook. The sky just looked a bit cloudy to me, but a friend said she thought the sky just looked a bit odd until she took a long exposure. So I set my camera on night with a wide apature and it stacked pictures for 60 seconds. I shake too much so had to try and find a position to hold the camera still, hence the blurry shots. I ended up shoving my right hand against the door jamb and just pushing the button with my left, shaky hand. On the last one I caught greenish streaks. My sister took a couple of these. No real structure but proof you can see aurora even in the city with a long enough exposure! One off the bucket list!

I was out with my friend and wanted to take some photos of the birds in an aviary, but my phone camera was playing up. My friend sent me a few of her pictures. I like this photo she took of a pheasant? Mostly I like the composition, it reminds me of a Mondrian painting and although the bird is not square or oblong shaped the red black and white add a pop of interest in response to the more muted colours in the background.
Taken when we were having tea and scones at the Brampton museum and art gallery in Newcastle under Lyme a couple of weeks ago.
