Snoring, sleeping
Dreaming of leaping
Warm and snuggled
After being cuddled
Breath slowing down
After a night on the town.
Raining outside
Came in to hide
Away from the storm
With a lick and a yawn!
New paintings and regular art updates.

Sigh, it happened. Our intrepid outdoor cat has led my two indoor cats out into the great big green world of our garden. He is a bit of a cat burglar. Strong claws had forced the cat flap mechanism round so that the flap opened both ways. He must have come in for food overnight then forced it to get out. His Foster brother and sister were both ‘not in the house’ when I got up. That deafening silence that indicates ‘absence of cat’.
All I could do was call and whistle. Five minutes later, outdoor cat and Foster sister came in through the open door. Five minutes after that, Foster brother saunter up. You’ve been out I say, who me? He stares in innocence. I open the cat flap for him. No he wants the door opening. Finally they breakfast…. Now they are sitting tapping the cat flap again! Argh… Inevitable!

She asked him again not to make a sandwich on the cupboard top. The cats jump up there and you don’t know what they are leaving there! Here, use a plate?
The man shouted that she was nagging, he didn’t need a plate. She tried again, there could be viruses or bacteria, you haven’t wiped it down?
But he still wouldn’t listen. So she decided to accidentally sprinkle coffee grains and sweetner on the cupboard. At least then if he went to make a sandwich he might use a plate? But no, he didn’t but at least he wiped the cupboard down!

A great big cat, he’s clearly moving in. Stayed most of last night and got in bed with my hubby last night under the duvet! When I got up at 7.30 he was asking to go out (outdoor cat, not hubby!) Now he’s sleeping on the doubled arms of the armchairs, between us. Sometimes a questing paw reaches out to rest on my arm. Little claws kneading slightly…. He is a very big cat. I think because if he wasn’t he would not have survived. Sleeping cat, happy cats!

Keeping warm in front of the heater, queuing up for the best spot. One washes, the other watches. Then off goes the one furthest from the fire. And the other lies down in front of it. Turns over on his back. And looks smug!

A few sketches of two of our cats. Cats move and I found it difficult to capture the ones where they were moving. Especially with black fur to draw, some of the patches are not the right shape or position, but if you are not aware of the image of the original cat it’s not as important? They are very sketchy..

I think cats are magnets
Magnitised to heat
Attracted like North poles
To the South Pole
of the heater.
Lines of force,
Pulling them in,
But not too close
Too much heat repels
Just enough to warm
Their iron filing fur…
Heat seekers…

Cats heat bathing. But this isn’t our indoor cats, it’s one indoor and one outdoor one. The outdoor cat has been in half an hour. He usually stays that long, then I think he gets too hot and goes and yowls by the back door, ready to go back outside. In fact that’s exactly what he’s just done. Walked to the back door and mroowl, that’s it. So I let him back out. His introduction has to be on his terms. My boy indoor cat is sniffing where he was sitting. Luckily he’s on a flea treatment so everything should be fine and as mine are inoculated means they should be safe.

Cats are heat seekers
They seek the sun
The light
The warmth
Cats know
Where to go
On top of the fridge
Up on a cuboard
Heat rises
So do cats
Surveying their world
Their domain
Kingdom or Queendom
Whatever the outlook
On the windowsill
Over the radiator.
No doubt about it
Cats are hot!

I collect ‘stuff’, I have ‘collections’ or as others would call it ‘clutter’.
Plants, cat ornaments, paintings, marbles, a few buttons, drawings, sketchbooks, cushions, books (lots of). A few cats, other stuff….. Hubby has bikes, trains, other stuff.
Where do I put it all, where do I keep it? Our house is more like a museum than a home. I need storage, I wish I could shrink it all down and put it on my phone. Or give me a shrink Ray and I can put it all in a dolls house!
