An old digital drawing of Mona drawn on the old sketchfu site. I got the nose and the body way too long! I used the site tools which were circular pens of seven varying sizes, and an opacity/transparency setting to build up the colours. I think I did this about ten years ago on my old wacom tablet.
An old commission from a few years ago called tree spirits. Another experimental piece. It is part of my pareidolia, seeing images of faces or animals in objects. The orange, green and purple were used to give it a feeling of dawn or sunset.
Thursdays #bandofsketchers prompt was holiday. Holiday? What’s that. We usually stay around Stoke because we don’t have many people to cat sit and holidays are too expensive. We do have days out. I tried to draw Jodrell Bank from memory, gave up and drew over it with a silver pen. Vaguely got the detail!
Got this from my Facebook memories. It’s a finger painting of a duck using the Artrage oils app. I like how it has a metallic sheen if you use the slider on it. The brushes on it can also create textures. I love drawing and this gives me the freedom to sketch if I don’t have a real sketchbook with me. I’m pleased with the colours that I used.
By the way”duck”is a well used friendly greeting between people in Stoke on Trent…
The world keeps spinning and I’m still here, one year older. I feel, I don’t know? Like I need to change, to try and be positive. I have escaped from last week’s or years thoughts. Maybe I can gain some strength now I’m a year older and wiser? I have fractured thoughts…
Grief holds you tight, you interpret things in its light. Your expectations change. Fear and worry hold your hand. A loss of a sibling? Never to speak again…. Memories sneak up on you. You peek round a corner and they pounce on you. Birthdays, bad days, no joy. But now? Can I look forward not back? I must try…
I duplicated the previous picture in Incollage then using most of the Instagram tools to change colours and hues. Then I adjusted the angles of the image to make it twist and turn.
It looks a bit rough but I like the idea of an off center image, it looks more interesting.
I decided to play with digital drawing again did a drawing in the Artrage app and them modified it in the Sketchbook app. I then used the incollage app to create a collage of the steps I had taken. Finally I used an Instagram filter to change the hues of the images. I did all of this as a finger drawing. I need to try using a stylus for a more controlled effect.
How to keep cool in hot weather. We don’t have air conditioning so we occasionally use a fan to at least stir the air a bit. I’ve imagined one with ribbons (which would probably get tangled up). Just a quick felt pen sketch.
Sunday’s #bandofsketchers prompt was Tiers. Only just drew this. I made a trifle at the weekend to share with my sister who was visiting. Plus it is my birthday today, this is a low sugar version. I realised it has three tiers…
“In entertainment, a tagline is a short text which serves to clarify a thought for, or is designed with a form of, dramatic effect. Many tagline slogans are reiterated phrases associated with an individual, social group, or product. Wikipedia”
I would say I’m a “pattern loving gal”? Does that work as a tagline for me? I add patterns to most of my art, and the older I get the more I seem to do it. The three words explain my feelings about art. My genuine enjoyment of entanglements and textures. My enjoyment of and involvement with pattern in my art and designs.
