I didn’t notice but one of my orchids has flowered. Not a good photo, lots of camera shake. You can just see there are a few lower buds yet to open.
Today I got soaked walking 100 yards to choir practice. I can’t drive and I struggle to manage with a walking stick and a brolly, so I left it behind It was drizzling when I went out but it came down heavy as I walked along. So much so it was raining into my eyes. I was told not to get water in my eye that had been operated on. I avoided doing it in the shower but unfortunately the weather got the better of me. Still I have antibiotic eye drops to put in.
Which reminds me I’d better water the orchids.

Describe one habit that brings you joy.

If I forget they wilt.
They sag and look sad.
I can only water
This limited area
Viewed from the back door
And kitchen
Scent wafts in
And gives me joy.

My eye patch is off till tonight. Struggling to get my eyes to align. I’m getting double vision. In one eye it’s yellow grey, the other side without the cataract is white. But my eyes keep crossing… It’ll take a while to get right. Meanwhile I’ll probably message people by voice note. It’s hard to type. Might need to reduce posting for a while. Hugs friends!

Different vision, my operation has made my vision much brighter in my right eye. I’ve got to take antibiotic drops.. It’s weird seeing two different brightness at the same time! Also a lot yellower on the left. Wish me luck!
Struggling to type so can’t write much.

Top painting by Theodore Gericault of a French peasant woman. I used it to base my picture on. The bottom painting is my portrait of Molly Leigh. I know mine is a bit rough round the edges, but I wanted her to look wise with a glint in her eye. I hope now I’m getting my sight sorted out things will improve. I will try and keep posting here but I may have to be careful how much I do.

Today I had my operation. I was very nervous. To calm myself down I sang during surgery! The surgeon encouraged me. He wants to do my other eye too! I’ve got an eye guard on now. I can see the side on the right is a lot brighter and whiter. My left eyesight is much yellower. So TV looks odd. I realise how much my sight had been affected..must be careful not to bend over….. My cat is OK BTW. Need to give him another tablet soon. He’s going to be on them for life.
Two weeks till I can have a checkup for both him and me. Hard to type, my eye keeps tearing up. Better stop..
