Catching the sun
Up in the sky
Over the trees
Lighter than air you fly
Heat rises up
Into the envelope
Shaped and sewn
A flying sphere
View from above
Seeing the ground
Eventually landing
Safe and sound.
New paintings and regular art updates.

The cat came in crying!
A sudden thunderstorm
Had spooked her
Flash and thunder together
The road, like a river!
Frightened cat
Eyes wide
Fur soaked.
Now she’s washing
at my feet
Still seeking comfort
Drying her back
with her tongue
Grooming the fear away.

Midnight
He wanders in
Wants his tea
Comes to say hello
Wants?
A scratch behind his ears
Cheek rubbing
Chin chucking
Then
Like an off switch
Enough
He goes
Nose in bowl
Eats, and
Then outside again.

Flaking paint scatters
Like dry blue snow
Bubbled by sunight
A patch of metal on show
So scrape off the old
And paint on the new
Go on, be bold
Then damp as the dew
Paint the wall gold
A liquid will run
Until it solidifies
In the hot sun.

Worlds, planets, galaxies
We cannot know it all
Universe or multiverse?
Astronomy or astrology?
The latter is not science
But beliefs
Do you follow faith
Or try and ascertain
What is real
Black holes
Neutron stars
Spinning crazily
In infinite space.
Viewed through telescopes
On Earth, in Space.
Thank you Galileo
For your grace.

Last night
I drew a pattern
Gave it a twist
Tied it down
Into quarters
Now I see
Rabbits or hares
With red eyes
Staring at me
Bright eyes
Burning like?
Rubies!

Like an old TV
His horizontal hold
Has slid
He’s flat on his side
Vertical gone a smidge
Black and white and grey
Relaxed for the day
In a min
He will snore
Or purr
Like a hissing
White noise
Screen…

She loves me
Her claws in my knee
Soft eyes
Staring up
I want you to stroke me?
No
Feed me!

What will tomorrow bring?
I asked myself,
What sort of thing?
A new idea,
a chance to change
A friend in touch
There is so much
To think about
So instead,
Today
I will rest a while
Gather my strength
And deal with it all
TOMORROW
Not today.

What will happen.
Where will we be?
Who shall save us
If needs be?
We watch the world
And what do we see?
Too much damage
Too many crimes
No one caring
No big fines.
The world is creeping
Towards catastrophe?
Who even cares,
You or me?
The corporate world
Has profits to collect.
Shareholders to pay
Not tomorrow, but today.
Not caring whether
There money causes trouble
While all around?
The Earth turns to rubble.
Give peace a hope
Give earth a chance
Stay one of the ‘Woke’
In this merry dance.
