Sat on the fridge
Looking cheeky
Eye on the seahorse
Ready to strike
Or will he disturb
My fridge magnet haven?
Paw at the ready
Beady eye squinting
Ready to pounce
So funny
So daft!
New paintings and regular art updates.

I’m going walking
A long way
Far into the distance
And maybe back again.
I’m going walking
For 100 days
Come rain or shine
I’m moving forward
I’m going walking
So new boots
To help me travel
Over the earth.
I’m going walking
I Wave as I pass.
See you in May?
If I get back
X

So much I should be doing..
So much that I need to do
Too tired to think of drawing
I need to get some sleep.
Watching TV and dozing,
Sitting quiet and still
Have to rest my head.
Going to go to bed!

Blowing a gale
Air full of hail
What do I see?
Catkins on a tree!
Waving and twirling
Snow flakes are curling
Fall to the ground
But all around
Nature awakes
With every breath it takes
Spring comes nearer….
Nothing is clearer!

Taste and flavour
Convection currents
Dip your biscuit
In your brew
English breakfast,
Earl Grey
Dajeeling
With cup and saucer
Porcelain power.
Tinkle of teaspoon
One lump or two?
But English muffins?
Not a word!

Hat or not?
Headscarf, cap?
Keep the sun off,
Stay in the shade,
Don’t let the sun burn
Red skin and pain.
Not in this month though
I haven’t seen the sun.
But I’ll still wear my hat
To keep the rain off….
Instead!

make more stuff
Don’t stop
Till you drop!
You must work
Don’t stay home
And shirk!
Covid, what’s that?
You should be working
Hard, relentless
Making an effort
For goodness sake
Money required?
Go get a job
Furlough?
Not allowed
Economic units
That’s what they want us to be
Poverty pushes you
Out of the door
Into the grip
Of illness and more..
And if that’s the case
Covid free, we will never be!

Pylons
Marching across the land
Birds rest on your open arms
Static but moving
Cables sagging
Great metal sculptures
Varied and angular
Electrical conductors
Humming your tune
Across the land
Striding over moors and valleys
Your importance holding
Your power.

Janus, two faced
Looking forward
To the future
And back
To the past
January is your month..
Old Year gone
Now New here.
What is your future?
Do you know your past
Janus, oh two faced in one.
Will you last?

Like a lockdown hair style
The garden grows
Longer, taller
Tangled locks,
Like sleeping beauty’s garden
The plants expand.
Ivy clambers
Holly spikes outward.
Buddliea twists and turns
Cut me!
It calls out.
Trim me!
Give me a hedge cut!
But I wait
When the ground is dry
I will fight through it.
