View into a courtyard
What was a conservatory
Glass gone
Now open to the sky…
What happened?
Age and decay
Piled up over time
Timber rotted
And fallen.
But space preserved
Repurposed
Made good
New life
In old building
New paintings and regular art updates.

What gives you direction in life?
Imagining a direction to take
Decisions made when I wake,
Thoughts my mind makes….
It’s a hard question when you get older and most of your life is behind you. I’m not very religious, so mainly I want to stay safe and keep going. No one wants bad things to happen.
I guess what direction I take could include going round in circles, always turning right, heading north. But mainly it’s just survival. Not in a preppy, survivalist sort of way, but just managing with what we’ve got, helping others when we can. Not expecting too much. Just trying to support each other. It’s not always easy, and questions have to be asked about whether the direction we are heading in now is still the right one.
The world should be fair for everyone. I know that’s a hard thing to expect, and people can be selfish and jealous of what they have. But I hope people will consider others as well as themselves. I think John Lennons song ‘Imagine’ is a good thing to follow…..

You shout out!
I jump..
I stalled
And you panicked
You minds sharp thorns
Sees danger round
Every corner….
Flight not fight
Means fright!
Stay calm
Breathe in
Breathe out
Anxious time
For both
So relax
If you can..

A friend gave us a frog
Ceramic and cold
Eggs or snails it holds
In its mouth.
Halfway up the willow
Crawling and hopping
But static.
I, startled
Backed away…
Then realised my hubby
Had placed it there
For amusement!

Art everywhere,
Art and design
The world needs
Art
Life would be boring
Without it
Clothes, cars, wallpaper?
Bags, book covers, magazines
Adverts and films
Whatever we do
If its not in nature
It could come from you!
Create a pattern
Knit a dress
I love art
I must confess!

Glasses and chalices,
Like mushrooms
Growing in the cupboard
I like the curves
Transparent and opaque
Grouped together
In the right place.
Come out at Christmas
Easter too
To have a drink
Of some old home brew!

End of April,
the moss is greening nicely
Moist air, no sun
Cool showers..
Vitamin D
What’s that?
Buds burst
and leaves open fully
Spring sprang last week
Next flowers
Soon, fruit.

Guess what I’m doing?
Having a quiet day
My body is playing up
And exhausting me!
So puzzles and words
Are taking my mind away
From my inside absurds…
I’m having a cup of tea
A gentle rest and doze
I will have to go and do things
But for now I can choose
A quiet day, today.

I must be parsimonius
The door stays locked
Money is a great big fuss
Payments will be stopped.
My purse is not bottomless
The moths are growing big
The dust in there is limitless
While fuel bills they still rig
The cost of living crisis
Has got us by the throat
Money goes by osmosis
Out of a sinking boat!
So now I will spend less
Cutting my money cloth
Mcawber rules I will address
No cash now for froth!

Youth to age
All one thing
Sliding and slipping
Entwined spirits
Damage and youth
Smooth then wrinkled
The bath of life at work
My hands are aged
Twitching, throbbing
Trigger finger hurts.
But keep drawing
Never give up
Never!
