I just sorted something out, and I feel a bit happier. It was just a simple repair, but I needed a hammer to fix the stair carpet in place. Could I find the hammer? I’d put it in a “safe” place. So no. It was lost. Then I moved a bag with one of hubbys remote control cars in it and it was there. I found a tack and fastened the carpet back in place. The cat has been sharpening her claws and pulled it loose. Tomorrow? I’m going to buy more tacks!
If humans had taglines, what would yours be?
I had to look this up:

“In entertainment, a tagline is a short text which serves to clarify a thought for, or is designed with a form of, dramatic effect. Many tagline slogans are reiterated phrases associated with an individual, social group, or product. Wikipedia”
I would say I’m a “pattern loving gal”? Does that work as a tagline for me? I add patterns to most of my art, and the older I get the more I seem to do it. The three words explain my feelings about art. My genuine enjoyment of entanglements and textures. My enjoyment of and involvement with pattern in my art and designs.
I cannot think of any better description.

Original pattern from 9 years ago. I’ve just duplicated it to extend the pattern. It was originally drawn on a site called Sketchfu which sadly closed a few years ago. As a pattern lover I liked the simplicity of the site. You could draw a lot of things with a few circular different sized pens.

Sundays #bandofsketchers prompt was slope. I drew a cat sloping off the page, with a sloped back walking down a slope. Three digital variations…

Drawn with dots at a now defunct site called sketchfu. The site had a colour picker, about six round brush sizes. An opacity/transparency setting, zoom option and a pallette. Not many tools, but simple to use and it attracted a lot of traffic (thousands of users). In the end the owners abandoned it, they ghosted us moderators (I was one) I think they sold the site off.

I don’t remember painting this but it must be several years old. I don’t know what I was thinking when I did it. I certainly wouldn’t do this now! It’s too blousy, but it’s got my characteristic patterns. Anyway it was discovered when someone was having a clear out of stuff so perhaps they were not that impressed either. I’m not sure if it’s on canvas or board and it could be when I was still painting in oils. I will have to see. I’d call it a sketch not fine art…..

Art everywhere,
Art and design
The world needs
Art
Life would be boring
Without it
Clothes, cars, wallpaper?
Bags, book covers, magazines
Adverts and films
Whatever we do
If its not in nature
It could come from you!
Create a pattern
Knit a dress
I love art
I must confess!

By the splodges on their paws, I could play cat dominoes. I couldn’t do it physically, but my cats have blobs and spots so you could line up photos of them so you get two next to two and three next to three. It’s a silly idea I know, but they have sweet markings. I think black and white cats really are my favourite. Nothing posh. Just Jellicals cats.. A poem by TS Elliott, about cats coming out to play….

I really like that the collage app I have gone for has shaped templates so you can create a design, maybe modify it, then fit each individual image to a shape in the template. That’s what I did here…. Abstract sweet pepper x
