Colour and shape and hopefully humour. Digital drawing, playing, having fun…. Little fat birdie. Feathers flying, bird, not quite, of paradise? Little heart shape in its eye, only just noticed it, a gleam there. Primary and secondary colours. Swirls and twirls…. I think I need to sleep, I’m dreaming of baby canaries!
I decided to make a drawing of a tree shape then played with it in various apps to change its colour and shape.
I love old fashioned Art Nouveau and Rennie Mackintosh designs from the turn of the nineteenth and twentieth century. Also the Arts and Crafts movement. We have become so interested in glossy and sleek, modern, monochrome that we don’t seem to recognise that patterns can be exciting and interesting. You can do anything you want really.

Photo my friend took on February 2018, I think it was up until 2019. Its also been exhibited at the Waiting Room Gallery. I liked doing these pottery ‘portraits’, but they are imagined, using pottery patterns and marrying them up with teapots or plates or bowls etc. It’s also about creating imagined backgrounds.
Acrylic on canvas, created, 2018, for sale…

Twelve Swans a swimming, paddling, gliding, multiplied by four in my layout app. From light to dark blue, srartling white feathers, getting all your swans in a row, photo….
Sitting on our windowledge in the kitchen, the hyacinths look lovely. I have no sense of smell but I can admire their beauty. Yet again I decided to create some symmetrical patterns. I like the intricacies of images like this. They create a surreal impact which makes you look again. As usual my pareidolia (is this the spelling) kicked in and I started to see faces in both images. The mind truly does play tricks on you.

Pattern with ducks.
I just liked this. Not only the ducks, but the pattern they make. Dancing ducks, a star of ducks, funny duckies.
Swimming upside down, floating in mid air. Life gets interesting when you play with photos.
Goodnight.
Only just found a couple of extra options on my phone sketch app, so thought I’d have a play with creating tessellations. Quite nice. Where blocks or tiles join up to form larger repeating patterns.

I see a face in the wood
A dragon in the clouds
An eye in the cheese
A mermaid in the water
Fish in smoke
Apples in stone
Bees in milk.
I see so many things,
Patterns in wallpaper
Cats in cakes
Tigers in bubbles
Owls on bark.
Never seen zebras in sugar though.

At least that’s what this is based on. The moon was setting behind the hill above our kitchen window. I could not see it as I’m too short. My hubby got me a stool to stand on so I could see the moon and the tree. I took a fuzzy photo, the quality of it was poor even though I tried to zoom in on the subject, the branches of the tree have a white glow around them but you can’t see the face of the moon.
So, a bit disappointed, but then I decided to play with the image. I ended up with this mozaic of images, including the wall and roof of the neighbours house…..
