Took a photo of three mini biscuits
Put the photo through Incollage app to create a symmetrical pattern.
Used photodirector app to add a mosaic pattern, then a background of sparkling lights and finally added grunge.
Do you edit your pictures to change or alter them? I keep using photodirector but they make changes in how it works and change the names of the tools. They have done the same in Instagram and it takes a while to learn.

Learn a new way to view.
Painting from a few years ago. I sometimes come up with ideas I like, but I don’t keep doing the same things over and over again. I’m not sure if I could keep repeating an image with just little changes. Once you start doing that you might as well be creating Christmas or birthday cards.
I like being experimental. I might not always get it right but if I continue I learn with each effort. This acrylic on canvas is quite surreal, but why not?
Where have they gone? Photos to accompany my blog? I’ve had to delete some pictures again because I running out of space and pictures take up more memory than writing. So if you find a post that refers to a picture that isn’t there any more, apologies. I could increase my WordPress plan but I don’t think I can afford it but I don’t want to stop. Have a good weekend x
What would you change about modern society?
Something needs to change. As the world gets more complicated, resources diminishing, people may be becoming more selfish?
But is that because we see so much more of the bad things going on in the world? It is only since film and TV and then the Internet that we have been able to see wars and conflicts in real time. We are not always sheltered by time or censorship of terrible events. Computers give us access to horrendous content that could change the way we think. But statistics show that in some countries crime has decreased considerably over the years.
As countries seem to be heading towards populist, right wing agendas, perhaps we should look at the ethics of news, bring in compassion and empathy. We could go back to religious rules, like turning the other cheek, enacting laws so that the weapons of war are not easily available, or working against theft and violence. But it doesn’t have to be a religious interpretation. Not all of those rules make sense. Why not work with humanitarian or humanist ethics? Listen to world courts and follow their precepts.
If compassion and empathy were taught in school we might not change the current situation but we could change our futures or our children’s futures.
I treated myself to an acting workshop for my birthday. It was a bit of a random choice, but I’ve found myself stuttering more since I got Parkinsons disease and I thought it might help my concentration and confidence.
Luckily some of my friends were also there which made me feel less anxious. We started out being given various exercises. First we had to look at someone in a large circle of people and then point at them. The person had to say ‘yes’ which gave the person pointing permission to walk over to them. In the meantime that person had to point to someone new, be acknowledged with a yes and then move on.
It wasn’t complicated, but it was hard to get your head round. It’s hard to just explain it. A few people said yes and started moving themselves instead of waiting for the other person to move. We eventually went on to counting, so it was like a moving conversation with numbers instead of words. Confusing for some, and hard not to make mistakes.
At the half way point we were given short pieces of dialogue. We were then split into groups of two and asked to read through the scripts and pick out concrete facts, not opinions. So you could say those facts could ground the performance, whilst opinions in the scripts could change how you felt about your partners character.
The whole workshop showed how important listening and reacting to another actor is. I don’t know if it helped my confidence but I have to say I enjoyed it. It was run by Claybody Theatre, based at the Dipping House, at Spode Works, Stoke, Stoke-on-Trent.

Have you seen the little camera sign on your phone? I’ve only just found out about it. It’s on the top right of the Google search bar. I guess there are similar tools on other search engines and I am not advocating you use any of them. It is good to use something to identify things like plants. I saw this growing out of a wall today and I wanted to know what it was as I have different ferns growing out of my yard wall. I’m glad to extend my knowledge.

This vibration gives whiskers their scientific name, vibrissae, from the Latin word vibrio, meaning “to vibrate.” Detecting subtle changes in air currents, cat whiskers transmit information about the size, shape, and speed of nearby objects, which helps cats navigate the world.
They are also used to express the cats emotions. When I try and stroke my cars cheek the whiskers pull backwards. When they are interested or annoyed the whiskers come forward, especially when sniffing something. And they are supposed to stick out sideways to measure the size of a gap they can get through (although cats are thinner than they look, you can see that when they get very wet!). And don’t forget the whiskers above their eyes too..
Describe something you learned in high school.
I’m not sure what high school is? When I was at school we went to primary, then secondary school. The top (final year) was the sixth form where you took your final exams.
One of those was biology, we studied a lot of information, photosynthesis, stomata in leaves (the holes underneath leaves that allow gases in and out. Things like the function of the kidney (was there something called a glomerulus?), the layers of skin, probably the structure of the eye? I think liking art helped because I could draw diagrams.
I enjoyed biology and am glad I chose it as one of my subjects.

Hi folks, I’m trying to sell hubbys guitar. A friend had a look at it for me. It’s an Oakman basic beginners acoustic guitar. New would be about £70, but second hand, I would be happy to sell it for £40. I’m never going to learn to play it, might make a good gift for someone who wants to learn. Comes with carrying bag and strap and a plectrum.
