On the windowledge. Photo of one of my Christmas cactuses already in flower (I think because the light levels have been low) and a metal cat doorstop which I prefer to be able to see rather than using it to prop a door open. I’ve also got cactus cuttings growing in water, must pot them on….
A fellow blogger mentioned Pareidolia today because he noticed he could see a face in a piece of lichen. Of course I then had to look back over my recent photos to see if I could find anything that looked like a face?
I’m one of those people that see faces in everything. I had to get rid of my shower curtain as I could see five or six bubble faces in it which was quite disturbing! I wondered if the designer had done it deliberately!
When I was a child I would often lie on the grass and looked up at cloud faces and animals, elephants chasing camels across the sky….
They are just about hanging on, and starting to develop flowers! The rains coming down most days and is starting to soak the soil too much. If we get a frost it’s going to destroy all the plant cells, and then, no more tender plants like these. The thing I’ve learned? Plant the seeds a month earlier, get them warm and germinating and get them out in the sun a month earlier too.
My vegetables didn’t do well this year. It sort of fizzled out in August and nothing grew much apart from the pears. But I spotted this growing last week. The weather is due to get cold in the next day or so but I hope if I give it a lot of water and some feed it might grow a bit more before the frost gets the plant. There are more flowers on it.. I also found a few baby tomatoes in a hanging basket. Green, but maybe they will survive for a while.
Several plants and one flower later! The other morning glory plants have buds on them. But the weather is set to be cold and wet from tomorrow, so they might all wilt! Anyway here is a tiny flower, I’m please it’s come out!
Poor Galdiolus stalk got snapped off in the wind. So I rescued it and put it in an empty fish shaped bottle in some water. Today’s challenge was open and closed so I think the open and closed flowers fit with the prompt. I’ve added the fence and flowers in the background. Using pencil for the sky and trellis. A few hanging baskets and houseplants finish the drawing.
