Line drawing (with added shading). It could be a drawing of folded paper. I was just doodling. I do love making things up. I might not be an expert but I do love drawing.
It could be chipped out of rock or cut from wood. It could be 3d, made from plastic sheets, a maquette for a large sculpture… All it is, is lines and shading.

Using plastic wrap as a type of filter….
If you don’t have an app to add a filter why not use something real instead? Here I used some crumpled plastic wrapping paper to put over the top of my abstract drawing of a face. It almost looks like the lines are printed on the plastic. Remember, experiment, have fun!

Drawing of white on black digitally then mirrored it and added a mozaic over part of it. Just playing. Using different ideas and styles. I never keep to one thing…

It’s been a while since I painted this. It’s a cherry tree in blossom in the snow. I like turning trees into faces. When it happens that you can see faces in objects or photos it’s called Pareidolia. But if I create the pattern myself is it something else?
I may do some similar art soon. I will see if the idea appeals to me.

I don’t need retouching
Thanks.

The #bandofsketchers prompt today was sad. I looked for Sad images, but it came up with handsome or pretty people, sad cat memes and info about seasonal effective disorder. So I drew myself pulling a sad face. Black fine point ink drawing.

Faces, I love them, portraits, doodles, there’s something that makes me draw them. Trying to get features right. I’ve always drawn eyes as well. I try to get them right, but I have a default eye or face, the way as I sketch I try and it from memory. Things like the size of the eyes. The eyelids, the shape of lips. The size and shape of eyebrows. Hairline. I find hair the most difficult. I need more practice, even after sixty years!

One of tonights choir group, each week I’ve been drawing a participant as they sing. It’s good practice as they are moving and the shadows move with them. If you notice the image is slightly distorted. That’s because I had the sketchpad flat on my desk and it’s caused a slightly elongated drawing that is tipped slightly to the right…
It’s something to check on when you are drawing, sometimes it can cause a lot of distortion if you are not careful.
Reflected, today’s #bandofsketchers prompt. Trying to draw my face in a little hand mirror. I think I’ve got the distance between my nose and mouth too close..
Not really up to doing much today, still feeling a bit off.
