Yellow cat!

Yowl! I have a metal cat hanging in the garden, I was going to put a small plant in his mouth but I forgot. Yellow and scared? Frightened? Amazed? He’s certainly got an expressive face. I don’t know how long he will last though, he’s going a little rusty inside. Maybe he’s meant to hold a candle or tea light.h

Was a birthday present and I’ve had him about five years so he’s lasted well. I think the photo came our clearly.

Cat doodle

The cat was washing so I drew him. I decided to add contours instead of shading it in completely black. This follows on from my previous line drawing of bar code.. Similar principle. I like drawing convoluted lines. This was with a black fine line pen. The lines give it a different shape to how the fur would lie.

Claws and whiskers

Reaching, stretching, paws up, claws out. But he’s only saying hello.

Just look at those whiskers, able to twitch and feel. Helps with moving around in the dark. Used to check a space is wide enough to get through. Pushed forward when he’s interested in something, sniffing and smelling his food or a cat nip toy.

Claws ready to knead and pull, to show he loves you by ‘poddling’. A happy cat….

Cat paintings

A couple of cat paintings I did for a friend in 2018. The first was a work in progress. I don’t have a photo of the completed painting. I love painting cats, and any other animals. I’ve got a dog painting in progress then I’ve got to paint some purple crabs, that might be interesting! By the way the pink is a chair cover, not part of the paintings.
