Sundays #bandofsketchers prompt. I decided to imagine geometric crystals. I used to love drawing rocks and minerals when I was a child.

In about 2006 and 2007 I painted several murals in the Arnold Bennett suite of the Leopard Hotel. It has appeared on Britain’s most Haunted on TV and until a couple of years ago was still open. Now no one seems to know what is happening with it. I’m sure it still needs a lot of work doing on it. No doubt my murals will get painted over if it is refurbished. It’s sad, because for a few years the place thrived. But there was also bad luck there. I wish things coukd be better for it. X

He’s almost done, looks like a Teddy bear so it needs some more attention.
I am struggling with the fur, trying to soften it, it looks too spiky at the moment. I need to get the ears right and his belly sorted out. The photo I’m working from has him in a dogs rain cover or coat, but that is covering areas I need to paint. Three hours of work and I feel like I’m only shuffling forwards. But I’ll get there.

Drawing of white on black digitally then mirrored it and added a mozaic over part of it. Just playing. Using different ideas and styles. I never keep to one thing…

Lit by led lights, this sculpture at Keele University is striking. Spires of reflective steel radiate outwards. Each line of them diminishes in size as them move outwards. It seems energetic, yet constrained. Like a frozen fountain. At the centre is a low metal plinth or seat. I wanted to walk into the centre of it and sit or stand on it. But thought it might be too fragile. A peaceful place to contemplate the universe perhaps?

#band of sketchers today, again. This time with colour. Van Gogh meets Picasso (ish).

Abstract cat for today’s #bandofsketchers prompt, but I might colour this doodle in. I liked the idea of doodling a familiar thing with added pattern.

Space, hard to draw stars, so I drew Saturn instead. Then I filtered it through photodirector. Today’s #bandofsketchers prompt.
Black fine line ink pen.

Holding two pens
I draw a face.
Hard to control,
The pens wobble
Tighter grip now
Try again…
The face emerges
The offset pens
Give it a blurred look.
An ancient roman
Apparently appears.

Sundays #bandofsketchers prompt was sleeping. I drew my hubby asleep late at night. He had fallen asleep in front of the TV.
