I was up late last night trying to get my college project finished. At about 2.30am I pressed the submit button and a PDF file was sent to the University. I previously sent in my written report in March. That was for 30% of the marks, this is for 70%. No more work due. Waiting for the results now.

What’s next? I’m hoping to get some more painting done and maybe get a few commissions for illustrations? I think I’ve proved I have an interesting style of working. Anyway I’ll find something. It’s got me through two whole years of Covid.

Essay submitted!

Well I’ve done it. Sent in this semesters work. I read around the subject a lot, but I don’t know if my essay shows enough understanding? Semiotics is my downfall! Signs, signifiers, interpretants. It’s a whole new language like mathematics, and it isn’t sinking in. I have tried, I’m surrounded by heavy books, I skim read some of the pages, but the thoughts don’t flow well. I think a face to face lecture would be better than digital dialogue. My heads mashed!

It’s taken me three or four days to put my college portfolio together. Lots of images in a word document. I had 51 pages in the end. I presented it as a landscape document. Word is a pain. Every time I tried to fit images to a page it jumped. So that meant I had to delete lines and insert lines. I tried putting numbers to pages, but because it was automatically numbering pages my document started with number 11! I had to work out how to delete 1.

Then I decided to put frames round each image, but the one I chose overlapped the edges of some of the drawings so I had to choose something with a slimmer frame.

Then I had to convert it to a PDF. When I looked all the images were too small. I had to resize most of them. So frustrating….

I hope I learn to do things better. I need advice in using Word, and everything else.
