Mr X

Oil painting on board of a friend I painted while I was at college. The Mr X refers to his name when he was in a band. I glued the poster to the painting and added an image of one of his pictures in the background behind him. I think I did the painting from life but I don’t really remember, it was painted about 40 years ago x

Steps blue, heart points green

You can tell I was busy on my essay over the last few days, there’s a big hole in my walking and heart rate records. I’m trying to do over 5000 steps a day and get my heart points to twenty… Well I didn’t manage it on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, but I did today. Partly on a short walk round Westport lake and also around a car park a few times while I was waiting for a friend… Phew, glad to be walking again!

Been neglecting my blog.

My mind is on my college course. We are at the end of another semester and I have to hand my work in today. Learning to write academically is hard. Referencing quotes, using citations. I guess someone who does it all the time will find it easy. It’s all part of the learning process. Anyway I should be a bit more ‘present’ over the next few weeks. Hope I don’t bore you.

Typing stuff

IMG_20200810_161257

My life is full of typing at the moment. College work and blogging, and then all my social media too. I guess that’s why my arms ache? I’ve only got a small space for my keyboard as I only have a tiny desk. An old wooden table with a hinged section screwed in place on the side but too rickety to use.

I could use the dictation mode on the computer but I think there is too much extraneous noise to use it.

Anyway back to boggled eyes….

When the cat stops you typing

DSC_2814

Two seconds before she had her head on the mouse! Of course as I picked the phone up to take her photo, she had to watch what I was doing.

She managed to type. 00ppppppppppppppp and /mmmmmmmmmmmm before I got to the backspace button. At least she didn’t press send! She was stopping me from finishing off a redraft of some notes about reflexivity (don’t ask). I’d realised that I’d miss read the question and needed to add more information about the text I had read.

I was reading a book by Anthony Giddens and trying to understand it but it’s hard going. Now I’ve had a rest I can’t remember what it’s called!

Backgrounds

I’m working on a background to place my four images on fro my illustration course.

I will be cutting this up into four. I think the cat and the man will be at the bottom and the tree and the house at the top. My idea is that it will be November fifth. Bonfire night. The man is looking for the cat, which is scared. The house and the tree are going to be at the top. I will then colour round the blobs in black so that it’s nighttime. I might use fine liner pens to make the background black but with texture…

Got to decide portrait or landscape? What do you think?
