A graffiti like image that started as a doodle with pastel and metallic pens. The scratches and textures were created using the photodirector app on my phone. Trying to create something that looks like it could have been painted on a wall and weathered over time.
Today’s #bandofsketchers prompt was time. This is based on an idea that I first came up with on my MA. Time flies. I had lots of ideas including a bird, a butterfly and a dragonfly. This is some sort of magical, time travelling bird clock. I don’t think it’s a parrot and it’s very round!
I just sketched this closeup using a pen on a sketching app that can create pixelated lines. I used dark gray and black that gives a little more depth than just one shade. I think it vaguely reminds me of a graphic novel sort of style. I do like trying out digital sketching ideas.
Playing with colours and the image of an eye /sunset. Felt pen and black ink pen. I don’t quite know what I was doing with it, but it’s interesting. It started out as just an iris but I got a bit carried away.
After a fitful night I must have finally got to sleep about 7am. So at midday it was annoying to be woken up by my hubby asking if I wanted a cup of tea. I had been in the middle of a lovely dream and I tried to catch the end of it….. the question came again, tea or coffee? Argh! I was dreaming I said. What were you dreaming about. I replied ‘biscuits’! Why? I have no idea! My hubby burst out laughing and carried on for five minutes!
I think my moon sketch looks like a chocolate chip cookie at the moment! ❤️
I’m finally, after almost three weeks, starting to feel a little like I want to do some painting or creating digital art again. Things have been really bad. It must have been hard to read some of the things I wrote. Death is not easy to cope with, and not having answers about why something has happened makes it even harder. But amongst the misery my little artist inside me has kept me going. It’s like the thread Ariadne gave to the hero Persius, to find his way out of the Minotaurs maze. It’s always there, even when I’m not doing any art. It helps me X
Who remembers these? I loved mine and by twirling both buttons together I found I could draw curves! I used to draw mazes. I remember turning it over and the shake of the silver dust as it covered the trace of your sketch. Also the twanging of what might have been elastic bands moving a stylus? Against the screen. It was just a tiny dot. A bit like a computer cursor! I’d love to get one again!
Curves filled in with lines, then the blank spaces walled off with black. I think it looks a bit like a script but it’s unintentional. I left the blanks because it making the patterns stand out more. I could add more black lines or adding colour to it, but for now I’m calling it finished.
Today’s #bandofsketchers prompt was mirror. I drew a face reflected in a jug of liquid, sitting on a chequered table cloth. After all anything reflective can be a mirror. I didn’t add the person whose face is reflected. Just being a bit spooky.
