Oi get out my way!
I want to go to bed.
I know the cat sat on the mat,
But you are way to fat
Just move out of my way
I don’t want to trip over your head
Or get downed by your paw!
Just move off the floor!
You’re a trip hazard….

She came up to greet me this morning, and I could see she was happy. Almost smiling, definitely purring. Her eyes half closed. I love her black nose and her black chin. I had to take a photo. Crazy cat mom, that’s me.

I do like adding texture to photos, in this case I used an app called photodirector. There are lots of options in it, but I tend to use the same tools each time. It has the effect of just ruffling the surface rather than adding some mad AI effects which you have to pay a premium for anyway. This was my lost cat, but he came back!

It’s big, about 4 x 5ft? Been on my wall since I painted it around 30 years ago. So I’ve been a crazy cat lady for several decades! I’m sure there are lots of us about. I’ve never been insulted by being a childless cat lady and I’m not starting now. Whatever you look after, be it child or relative or animal your life should be full of caring and supporting those objects of your love. To have hateful words used against you is pathetic.
What traditions have you not kept that your parents had?

We always had a traditional Christmas tree, decorated with glass baubles, lammetta to look like icicles (thin strips of shiny metal tassels) also dodgy Christmas tree lights which would regularly stop working. It was a treat to be allowed to decorate it with my mother’s help. I think we always managed a tree with nicely placed ornaments and would then add bits of cotton wool to represent snow.
Scroll forward a few years. Now I rarely have a tree because of my cats. They like playing with the baubles and breaking them. They have also knocked the whole tree over. I haven’t given up on the idea. I even think I could hang a tree from the ceiling just to keep the cats at bay!

You’ve got to sketch them
Black and white cats
They gang up on you
And beg to be represented.
Make us handsome and beautiful
They miaow at me.
So I scribble a sketch.
Thank you they say.
That’ll do!

The cat is back
Happy and fat
Sleeping on my chair
I guess that’s fair
So here’s a simple verse
That things had been worse
Now they are good
The cat? He’s my bud!

My female cat likes to drink from the tap. Not in the kitchen, but in the bathroom. I guess she likes the running water. Sometimes she gets on the sink and drinks from the tap (faucet) there.
Cats are strange. They have their own purrsonalities. They can wrap people round their paws with ease. They are beautiful, graceful, clever. I like dogs, but I could not give one the exercise it needs. Cats are able to go off into the world and use their skills to play. I know they are predators but they are not always bad. I love them.

After 17 hours sleep yesterday my cat asked to be let out. He won’t use a litter tray so I had no choice. That was late last night. By lunchtime today he hadn’t come back so I went looking for him again. I called in the local vets and rang two more practices up. No sign.
Tonight as the sun started to set he sauntered in. He’s currently asleep in my armchair and I’m relegated to the one next to him. But I don’t care! He’s back again and I don’t have to post him missing again! The relief is so great. He’s like a lost lamb returned. I can’t tell you how much better I feel. And his abscess is looking a lot better too!

The yard my cat was in. They clearly were trying to look after him. I’ve been round and left a note explaining he needs medication daily for the abscess under his chin. Left my number. When I checked where the yard is today I found there is a gate we could have gone through. What do people think about me going in and grabbing him if he goes there again? The other two photos are of him in his carrier while I was waiting to see the vet. He’s eating and drinking but very quiet. (last photo, asleep).
