Lead glass has lead added to it to make it more malleable when it’s being formed into things like lead crystal glasses (although apparently it’s not actually got a crystalline structure). Modern lead glass about 24% lead ( Pb) in it.
It’s renound for its clarity and is shown off when it is engraved with fine lines and geometric patterns.

I know when the nights are drawing in and it’s getting colder. The cats start sleeping on their cat tree in front of the radiator. They only like the platforms next to each other. Neither of them want to be ‘top cat’ and to sit on the highest platform. There is a bit of territorial rivalry though because one cat always sits on the left side and the other on the right.
I haven’t written much today. I’m not well, but this sight amused me this morning x.
There is a frog in our pond. We had frogs several years ago, but they disappeared. Now they have come back. They are sharing the pond with some goldfish which seem to be OK. I wasn’t sure if they could co-exist? Do frogs eat fish? It’s funny seeing them breathe the water making tiny ripples with their movements. It’s a real wildlife garden and pond.
my hubby finished this. I like the fact he’s done the cat in green. Also that he’s left some of this white. I’m to blame for the beading, it was too fiddly for him.
It’s definitely a riot if cheerful colours. I’m not sure where it’s going. It might go on his side of the bedroom..

I’ve missed singing for the last couple of weeks, one choir I’m in breaks up for the summer and the leader of the other is away on holiday. I love the boost singing gives me. It releases endorphins which improve your mood and helps lower stress. What prompted this was hearing an item on a radio programme where choirs who have a complaint about something ( like the price of fuel?) get together and write a song about the issue then sing it out. The idea is you sing cheerfully but express your complaint. Apparently this is happening all over the world. The item was on BBC radio 4 and may be on the BBC sounds app.
He looks like butter wouldn’t melt in his mouth, but two minutes ago he and his sister were chasing each other up and down the stairs, up on bookcases and rushing in and out of the kitchen and bathroom. 
Now his sister is playing with a cat toy and is ignoring him! Does anyone else have cats that have mad half hours? Pouncing and chasing. Basically getting up to mischief and having fun. I wish I’d got some photos!
We just went to a talk about Iceland by our friend Ivan. He had spent several days on the Island following trails around an area about the size of North Wales and near the capital Reykjavik. I’m sorry but I didn’t take the names of the places he visited but it was bleak and beautiful. Ice was melting in the summer sun and there were several places which were called snow bridges which would collapse under a person’s weight. These were over deep holes and hollows where the packed snow had melted underneath.
Ivan also played video of the landscape including geysers where boiling water was thrown up fifty feet into the air. Steam rose from fumerols and there were plants where power was generated from geothermal energy. Throughout his trip he made friends, camped out, and took beautiful photos. We were lucky to win one of them in a raffle he held. The Penkhull Mystery plays are to be the recipient of any money he collected. A great evening out.

It’s doing it again, saving to draft failed. Buy I’m hoping that if I just post this without editing it, perhaps it will post?
Anyway my hubby has been having fun colouring this cat in. I guess it really doesn’t matter that it’s green, as long as he is enjoying doing it. Adult colouring books seem to be the in thing these days. They are good to take your mind off things, they give you the relaxation you need, using enough concentration to give you ‘flow’.
More people could use this technique to help themselves to calm their minds. Life is too stressful, and maybe something gentle like this, taking your mind off things, could help?
