My Cat is not well. He has heart failure. He’s on medication but is off his food. Just got to look after him. He’s lost weight, not in any pain. He sat on my chest for an hour this afternoon, purring, nuzzling my hand, but I can see he’s deteriorating. I think I might have to take him back to the vets tomorrow.
I’ve had him for 8 years as a rescue cat, so I don’t know his actual age. He’s so loving. I will miss him deeply when he goes.
Another bandofsketchers prompt “Solstice” drawn in the Artrage app. I wanted to draw stonehenge but I couldn’t get the shapes right, so my solstice is set in Egypt.
My old boy cat is getting thin. He is on medication for his heart, but that seems to be making him thinner. I don’t know his actual age because he was a rescue cat about 8 years ago. I didn’t find out his age then but he was fully grown. I’m having to accept he won’t be around for much longer. I’m giving him him lots of treats. He’s getting small meals but as often as he wants. I can’t make him eat but I can try and tempt him. At least he can sit in the sun if he wants.
The sky was so clear tonight, the shades and colours were so subtle. Blue, then purple, pink, orange and yellow. The trees silhouetted against the light. It was glowing and I could really see the colours for a change. I realise how much my sight has improved with every new vista. I’m hoping it continues and nothing goes wrong. It was glorious.
Another #bandofsketchers prompt was wet, after taking a photo of rain on my window I decided to try and interpret it as a digital sketch using Artrage app. I usually finger paint but as I wanted more control I used my stylus.
A quick sketch for a prompt “flutter” for a group I’m in called bandofsketchers. A butterfly drawn in Artrage app on my phone. It’s a bit scribbly, but it is meant to be a sketch…
Yes it’s raining a lot here in England, so wet I dare not go out. I’m not allowed to get my face wet or get water or grit in my eye.
I really want to go out and do some shopping. I need to get cat food, but it’s still raining after about 12 hours. But I can hear the cars splashing through the water outside the front door. It’s only 2 or 3 steps to my car. But I need to use a brolly and my walking stick, so by the time I’ve put them in the car I will get soaked. Luckily I’m parked right by the pavement so I don’t need to step through a rushing river of water that runs down the gutter. The grates for the run off are full.
Anyway I’m off to grab a coffee… Decaff of course.
I keep reaching for my glasses even though I no longer need them!
Is this muscle memory or cognitive dissonance? For 58 years the first thing I have done in the morning is reach for my glasses.. My face feels empty now. Like going out without a coat on. Most things are very clear but because one eye wanders I have to consciously focus to reduce double vision. I will need reading glasses and possibly distance ones too but at a lot smaller diopter (strength). In the meantime I’m nervous of going outside. I don’t fancy wind blown eyeballs!
