Don’t you know?

Don’t you know I love you?

Don’t you know I care about you?

It’s bleak out here

It’s cold and grey.

My heart is lost, broken, destroyed.

It hurts that you don’t care,

It hurts that you’ve gone away,

You are here in body but not in spirit,

You changed before my eyes

Your memory has glazed over

Milky white, foggy, out of focus

I can’t break in, I can’t get close

I still love you

Won’t you remember to love me too?

Seamus two years ago

FB_IMG_1552955985792

What a change two years make. Seamus was quite a timid cat. It took me ages to coax him out to say hello and I think you can still see caution on his face here – a couple of months after he arrived. He’s much more self assured now. He loves playing catch chase with his sister. Instead of sleeping in quiet corners or under cupboards both of them now sleep on a cat tree or on the back of the sofa in the middle of the living room.

They both will only eat one flavour of one type of cat food, but it is supplimented with treats and they know how to stare so you share food off your plate.

Cat stares

It knows what it wants

It hypnotises you

To share your breakfast

Lunch

Tea

Dinner

Supper..

How do they do it?

With love and telepathy… !

Sunset

DSC_1360_optimized

The night draws in again

Sunset and its rosy glow is gone

Eight minutes before the sun set

Light travelling ultra fast,

Eight minutes to shine from sun to earth.

Energy in motion, then lost

Behind the hill

Night infects the light

It’s inky blackness sometimes reduced

By moon and stars

Or reflected light on clouds.

But the dark cannot hold as the earth turns.

Tipped slightly, seasons prevail North and south.

As spring arrives days grow longer

Now sunsets late or never

While equator stays the same

the North and South vary.

Sunset later every day till mid summer

Then decline.

Through the trees

DSC_1643_optimized

Through the trees there is light,

Through the trees there is air,

Through the trees there is water

but without the trees there is no life

no birds, no animals

no bears, no deer,

Without trees the air gets dirty

It gets dry.

Forests and jungles are our lungs,

life evolved in the sea,

came onto the land,

And in the forests of the land

there are more bugs, animals and possibly birds

than are found in the long grass

or desert plains

or high hills and mountains.

Save the forests, save the trees, save the world ..

Owl

FB_IMG_1552484640421

Being owlish I look carefully at things,

I see them from my flying wings.

I hoot with laughter when I hear a joke.

I spy mice and voles at a stroke,

Will my owlish brain outwit you?

Never know what hit you?

I swoop down so soft and quiet

To consume my rodent diet….

My talons and beak are sharp

Winging down over hill and park.

A barn to rest in is all I ask.

A nest to build is my task.

My eggs and chicks they grow fast

Gobble up food, a tasty repast.

Then once they are grown the fledge

And out to the world they emerge.

So this old owl will towoo some more.

To hear the twit of my Amore.

What’s out there

DSC_1813

What is it?

Box thing with round things, moving

Not my human, moving

Green things waving on long thin things

Wet stuff, falling,

White wet stuff, falling

Coloured things, small, smell nice

Thing with wings, flew past, fast.

Thing with Four legs on string, barking.

Something like me, black and white.

Something like me orange, whiskers.

Not my human wearing red with flat white and brown things

Bang, oh noise, white and brown things come through hole in wood thing in hole in big square white thing, white thing also has hole in it that has clear stuff in it so I can look out and thing hanging down that makes ringing noise when I play with it.

This odd poem is me trying to describe from my cats perspective. I don’t imagine they have nouns for things, so I haven’t said windows, door, or envelopes but just tried to explain them. I hope this makes sense..
