More flowers

Well since all my photos are in my October file it does mean I can find ones that I took last year and I’m also putting them together in blocks so that I might be able to delete some of the individual ones.

I think these were taken out at the Dorothy Clive Garden in Staffordshire (?) , England, last year. Either it was a showery day, or partly overcast because some have shadows and some not. But they were all grouped together which is why I think they were taken around the same time. Other than that they are random and mostly on the hotter side of the spectrum. A lot of them are daisy types, but I’m in love with the poppy too.

Two thousand October photos

Oh no! I decided to optimise my photos and save some space on my phone because it’s getting full and it would reduce each image by about ninety percent.

Great, plus they will take up less space here…

He problem now is that they are all out of order and the majority of them appear to have been taken on 9 October 2020!

Oh no! Trying to search for one particular photo is now a pain! At least before I could choose a month to go to…..

Might have to delete old photos…. But I like them…

Oops!

Remind me not to optimise my photos when my antivirus advises me to! My phone is crammed with pictures, like the one above. But they are all over the place now. They were sort of in date order now anything from last year is stuck together in the file for October 2020. Yes I’ve saved a lot of space, but the recent things I was working on have gone walkabout! Grr

I’m going to have to try and find them again, I’ve got a commission to do and I need those photos! Plus I’ve optimise them, which means they are a lot smaller. And I’ve deleted the originals… But when you have THOUSANDS of photos what can you do?

Grr…

Hubby pulling out long nails

This was hubby at the allotment today, using a long crowbar to help pull out very long nails from rotten wood surrounding old raised beds today.

Some of the nails were eighteen inches to two foot long!

Can’t explain why he’s wearing shorts and a long coat. His head is bent over as he doesn’t have a visor on his motorbike helmet. Why he’s wearing it? I also don’t know. He came home tired and happy! By the way I miss heard him when he came in. He said he’d been working with ‘vast nails’, I thought he said ‘fast snails’

🤣

I thought I would combine the two photos. It looks like he is levering up the world!

Off on his trike

Setting out in the sun to meet a friend on his allotment. I got a message later that one of his wheels has collapsed? Luckily it’s only about a couple of miles away. What you can’t see is that he’s on his sandals! I tried to get him to wear his shoes… Weird! I hope the ground isn’t too wet.

He usually wears a flat cap, but when he went to the allotments last week his friend accidentally put a pickaxe through it (it was on the ground). I do wonder if this is something they should be doing! But gardening and exercise is good for mental health, so I suppose it’s good for him. Meanwhile I’m off to get some college work done.

Hedgehog photos

The hedgehogs are about tonight eating catfood again. I quietly opened the back door and saw one of them eating the catfood I’d left out for the abandoned cat. When it realised I was there it slowly scuttled off up the yard. When I looked again later all the cat food had gone. When the abandoned cat arrived I gave him a couple of pouches of wet cat food to make up for him missing supper.

I love out hedgehogs, I’m hoping they will weigh enough to survive winter. I think they are living in the back of the shed. My hubby says he hears snuffling in there late at night.

Wheels

White walls or black walls, old fashioned bike wheels are getting hard to find. Everything has gone over to metric and the 27 inch and 26 inch tyres of yesteryear are hard to find now. That’s a problem for people like me with little legs. I had 26 inch wheels and when I had my bike rebuilt they put in 700c’s which are ever so slightly larger. That resulted in my saddle being slightly too high. I always used to lay my bike on the floor to get over the frame, but once I stand it up I can’t get on the saddle. I want to lower that, but the bolt had seized… Might try finding a shopper bike!

Reflected water

From ssummer two years ago. A reflection and mirrored image of the canal surface at Middleport. Taken when we went to see the ceramic poppies that were used to decorate the bottle kiln at Middleport pottery. The art work of thousands of ceramic poppies travelled round Britain in 2018, to celebrate the centenary of the end of the First World War in 1918. If I find a photo of the poppies I will share it.

Comfy cat

He’s curled up on a cushion between out two chairs. Happily asleep. He’s not a cat that twitches much when he dreams. Some of the kick out their legs and run after mice I guess when they sleep. But my boy cat stays calm, a twitch of his ear, or his nose is all he does. Cats sleep for sixteen hours a day as far as I know. Imagine that. Head down, dreaming over what food he will be getting for tea. Slightly pampered. Always loved.
