Look at you,
Star-ing out at me
Flame of yellow eye
Iris shaped and twisted
Sight burnt by the light
Scrunched into a small space
Tears flood your lashes
Dark shadows cast
Hard stare
Thoughtful and sad.

Peeling paint filter over duplicated flags. I have tried to create an image that you might have found on an old billboard, perhaps in the states although the pattern is not correct (I’m not sure what country it represented, and as I have duplicated its more difficult to recognise). I might try and paint it as an abstract image.

Well I decided to play with this. I could have chosen a photo, but this turned out a bit like a multi coloured jelly! Two versions, one digitally manipulated. Today’s #bandofsketchers prompt was Rocky.

Using a digital filter can make a difference to an image. It somehow tidies up the image. It adds a different quality to pen lines. This was done with photodirector/effects/style, choice two. Initial drawing was brown and pale green felt pens.

Digital manipulation of the drawing. I do not know how to stop. Trying twisting and mirroring to create new ideas. Having fun. This could be a design for a stained glass window .

Sometimes even blurred photos work. I used photodirector to add texture to this. Why? Because although it was blurred the colours were really interesting. The contrast of dark reds and greens and pale green and pink seemed to work really well. You can still tell what it is but in an abstract way. In a way its sketching with photography. I think it’s still art.

Digitally manipulated photo of a cat goblet I had given to me. The glass globe in the top of it is a paperweight. The texture and light highlights are from using photodirector. You can position the highlights over and over so I chose three lots, each placed where they would be reflected off places such as the cats eye. I chose to make this because its Friday 13th which is a day of superstitious fears in the UK.

Blue and white digital drawing using the sketch app on my phone that has a kaleidoscope effect, then with added texture using photo director. Reminds me of a ceramic bowl with a repeat surface pattern using transfer printing. The pattern also looks like dancers or iceskaters. It would also look good on fabrics, like a silk scarf.

This is the previous post put through the photodirector app. The image now has contours. You can feel the movement and it feels like an oil painting or a soft dry pastel drawing. I think I like this more than the original.

Series of digital finger paintings and photo edit to show how I created the eye drawing in my last post. I used artrage oils to start, then a flood fill in rainbow colours and a black pen and black flood fill in my sketch app. Finally added the texture with a style then grime option in Photodirector.
