Hat or not?
Headscarf, cap?
Keep the sun off,
Stay in the shade,
Don’t let the sun burn
Red skin and pain.
Not in this month though
I haven’t seen the sun.
But I’ll still wear my hat
To keep the rain off….
Instead!
New paintings and regular art updates.

Back in 2018, when crowds were allowed, we went to see the terracotta army travelling exhibition at Liverpool. While I was there I did a series of sketches. This is a favourite. Not the warriors but a sculpted chariot or carriage pulled by four ponies. I think it’s good to draw as well as taking photos. You get a different perspective… Literally!

My favourite occupation at the moment is drawing with anything I can get my hands on. This is with an ink roller. I have drawn with boot polish in the past. I also like black quink ink that splits into blue and brown if you add a bit of water.
At the moment we are doing drawing exercises for college. Doing a single line drawing without looking at the page and we have to draw movement? It’s all about observation. I need to start but have been ill with vertigo…. Oh well, it will happen…
I feel sad when I run out of paper for my sketches. I need to get a new one!
The trees in our garden are a bit like a forest… Drawn with an ink roller then added permanent marker.. The end of my sketchbook. #30daysketchbookchallenge

This is my 358th continuous day of posting on WordPress. I almost did it before a couple of times, but for whatever reason I crashed back to zero… I hope I can do it this time! Is there a reward for posting every day that we have travelled round the sun? Almost the length of time there has been covid19 in the world? Is it a milestone or a curse being on line every day. I guess it means I haven’t been away on holiday where there was no WiFi… I’m tempting fate!

Take a pencil a pen or a brush. Without looking at the paper, start drawing what you can see. Try and make one continuous line….
Try not to laugh out loud when you see the result!
An exercise I’ve got to do for college. This was a practice run.

What on earth do you draw? I tried to think, but dreams are so ephemeral and hard to remember. They are fantastical and sometimes full of bizarre images. But I decided to draw a simple dream of a cat scooping up a fish… Hopefully it falls plop! Back into the pond!

I don’t usually buy things over the Internet. But a couple of weeks ago I saw an advert for a company who were closing because of the pandemic. I felt sorry for them so ordered a few things. Now I have no idea when they will arrive, I’m just not very observant about these things. I think that I should be OK because my payment was covered by insurance.
But now I’ve heard that I may have to pay tax when the items arrive. Since Brexit there is VAT or tarrifs to pay because we have left Europe! I might not bother to buy things on line again.

Today’s #bandofsketchers prompt was food so I chose to draw some fruit on a calico pattern Burleigh plate. As I’m not feeling like cooking this was the easiest option….
My world was spinning like a planes propeller, or a turning bike wheel, this morning. If I opened my eyes the room was going round and round the vertical at about two revolutions a second. Nausea swept over me and I felt hot and sweaty.
I don’t know if it was something I ate, or if it was vertigo, but I have had a sore throat for days so I think it’s something to do with that. The last time I had it I ended up in Accident and Emergency for the afternoon.
When I needed to use the bathroom my hubby had to lead me because I had to keep my eyes closed, I’ve never felt so strange as this. Closing my eyes helped. I won’t say how ill it made me.
Now after a few hours sleep I feel slightly better. The spin cycle seems to have subsided!
