Cat b and b

That’s what we are for our outdoor cat. He sleeps all night then grabs his breakfast and rushes out of the door around dawn. Sometimes he stays in for longer. He has the best of both worlds, freedom to roam and warmth and food when he wants it. I’m not sure what will happen if we ever go on holiday.

He eats as much as he wants, drinks what he wants, sleeps where he wants. Lucky cat!

#bandofsketchers spiral

Today’s #bandofsketchers prompt.. Spiral.
Spiral of wire weaving my friend Deborah did for one of my glass cabochons I made at Angela Ashtons fused glass workshop a few years ago.

The wire weave and chain is a deep bronze colour, I couldn’t really do it justice. There are coloured glass and metallic effect glass in the cabochon.

I’m happy with the drawing, it’s not perfect but it does represent it.

Walking with closer to home.

I went on a walk today with a group called closer to home. I couldn’t keep up all the way round their five mile walk but I did my best. You know a city is linked by main roads, but we went up old pathways, along the old track bed of a railway, the potteries loop line, and back along the canal.

Towards the end I found I was struggling, it was like I’d hit the wall, but I ket going and finished only a few hundred yards to the rear of the group. A friend walked along with me so it wasn’t too bad.

Zine

Today my copy of Falmouth Zine arrived. Its the work of myself and fellow students, we all made self portraits using cut up pieces of monoprint. Then it was Riso printed and we now have the result.

Yes my self portrait looks nothing like me, but it was fun and experimental, and I learnt about making my own monoprint and how a Riso printer works, so yes it was worth having a go!

Smiling faces

Smiling cloud faces, view of Snowdonia, Wales, UK , June I think, 2019. Wishing I was there now. We haven’t been able to visit for over a year because of Covid…I saw this again today and remembered how enjoyable it was just travelling, exploring, driving down roads I’d never been down before. I don’t mind not driving much, but I’d like to go to a few nice places again….

Remembered scary tree

Oh I used to run past this tree. I was convinced as a child that it was inhabited by a ghost. As part of this terms college work we had to remember some landscape from our childhood and this was what I thought of.

I’ve probably missed out trees and I can’t remember if there were houses in the background. But it will remain with me forever!

Mark making.

Not a good photo, but this was me drawing different marks as part of a mark making workshop.

It was supposed to be in pencil but all I had was a blue pencil crayon. I also tried rubbing over the top of an embossed tin. You had to come up with as many different marks as you coukd in a five minute period. It gets your mind working… Good for creativity.
