Not been out, not felt well
Achy bones, tummy pain
Been asleep, tired all day
All my foods been thrown away
I feel like s***, I want to cry
I’m fed up and not feeling spry
I’ve done my best but not been blest
With good health? No!
So I’m stressed!

Commissioned acrylic on canvas. A surreal abstracted spirit : Green woman. With antlers adoring her head. It’s taken months to finish because I shake even though it’s only about A4 size. I imagine her standing in a grotto of trees, hidden from mortal view. She is nature, watching carefully as the land changes through time. She fights for the natural world and environment.

I’m painting a green woman and I’ve been trying to sort out how to differentiate the foreground figure from the background trees. I’ve accentuated the stripes on the bark and made them more black and white than in reality. Since the figure is abstracted in a different way I think it’s starting to work.

My painting of a green woman is coming on. I did some more today. I’m adding more metallic colours, to bring out the sheen on the leaves. Also I want to improve the background of the image. Hopefully it will feel more coherent when it is finished. Acrylic on canvas.

This is the partner painting to the green man portrait of my hubby. They mean a lot to me. I intend to put them up together in my house once my exhibition is over. It’s about A4 size, probably a little bigger. I used some silver metallic paint on it to give it a slight shimmer. Acrylic on canvas. Painted a few years ago.

Playing with colours and planning a painting or series of paintings on the theme green men and women. I want to push the idea a bit further. Maybe abstract the images a bit more. Work on it in digital and analogue ways. It may be different hues. A bit like Andy Warhol variations, but different. I will try and post more if I come up with different ideas.

One of my paintings from a couple of years ago. I’ve decided to put it in the Vision Exhibition this Saturday and Sunday at the Rigger Venue in Newcastle-under-Lyme. I have been working on it to give it a more three dimensional feel. That’s why I’m posting this at 2.21am…I just finished it. It’s acrylic on canvas and about 12 inches square. Now I need mirror plates and screws. That will be a task for tomorrow.
This is up now at the Rigger. Hope things go well. X

Suddenly I’m painting again! I decided to do something with this picture. It was only roughly worked out. I decided I wanted to make a self portrait as a green woman. I used a photo of myself on my phone and overlaid leaves onto it. I don’t know if it’s finished but I liked trying to bring out the shaping and shadows on it.
Sitting in the living room, I should go down the studio, but my cold is worse. Anyway I will work on another partially painted picture.

this is a self portrait I started last year, but haven’t finished. So where best to start when you have been a bit blocked, than to work on something like this.
I want to do a series of ‘green’ portraits. The idea being that I can make a different image that is striking and interesting. Although there is a basic structure done on this I may make a lot of changes. Its definitely a work in progress.
