My Cat is black and white so when he comes in from the rain he often looks like an otter. He’s like that tonight but it’s too dark to get a decent photo so here’s a little illustration I did of a cat walking through the rain… He looks very fed up!

I did this years ago. I still love this little watercolour doodle. I splashed blue paint onto the paper then I think I added the cat… I loved adding his frowny face. Poor cat, getting soaked. X

It still amazes me that my friend Phil made us this ginger cat, leaded light window above our front door from a design I drew out for him. It’s proper stained glass with lead holding it all together. It’s about 27 years old. We had it done because the half moon of glass that is above the front door was only single glazed and this does help the draught a bit. I’m so glad I had it made. X

A beautiful ginger cat came in today and was eating my cats food. I had wondered why the bowls are being locked clean. This is an addition to an almost totally black cat that keeps coming in. That one doesn’t eat food but I have caught it sleeping in the spare bedroom. I’ve used flea spray and keep washing the cats bowls.
I don’t want to be horrible to them as its freezing at the moment. My own cats stand nonchalantly by, they were rescue cats and seem quite tolerant. If I can find their owners I’ll ask them what’s happening?

Sleep little cat
Enjoy your rest
Tomorrow you will be at your best,
Having a prowl
Look at that owl?
Seen by moonlight
Stars ever so bright
Having fun and delight
During the night,
So rest and take your ease
Enjoy it, if you please. X

A cat moved into the warehouse where we held out art and craft show. It has a home in a local housing estate but I guess because the warehouse is heated it’s found a place to visit. The main problem is there is a ladder up to the loft space and on Saturday it climbed up and went to sleep!
There was a panic because they couldn’t lock up the building until it was found. Luckily someone bought some cat treats so it came down!

Oh the joy of a happy cat
Smiling teeth, sharp claws
Ready to pounce
Satisfied with his hunting skills
He can stay in the house
Leave birds
Play with his toy mouse!
Stay happy but quiet!
Good cat!

Of course it had to be a mad digital cat drawn in Artrage with metallic and non metallic pens. #bandofsketchers prompt was Animal.
Artrage is a fun app to use, you can try various tools like oil paint, spray paint, pens, different brushes and pastel. The brush sizes can be varied on a sliding scale and you can change the amount of metallic and non metallic paint you use. There was a free version, Artrage oils. I don’t know if it’s still available.

I painted this ginger cat a few years ago. He’s based on a stray that moved in with us for a while. He would sit on a windowsill and stare out at the garden. I decided to make his view a bit more floral, and almost Mediterranean.
Unfortunately we had to rehome him because he would fight with our other cats and ended up with an abscess in his paw. I spoke to the vets and they agreed to find him a good home. I hope he was happy and it was sad to say goodbye to him.

An imagined cat on a white wall. The plants make it feel like a courtyard. I had fun with the paint mixing different tones and colours . The cat is a ginger tabby staring out of the painting. Acrylic on canvas.
