Purrs

He is a bit of a nervous cat but when he’s in a good mood he purrs really loudly. He puts a paw out and touches my hand or arm. He will rest his head on my hand now, and then he starts to snore!

I appreciate his love and I think he appreciates ours. We are lucky to have built a friendship with this cat which was abandoned by his previous owners a few years ago. I hope he stays with us for a long time.

Geese and goslings

Walking past these tonight, they hissed a bit, warning us off from their brood of goslings. It’s a good place to be bringing up young. I think they are greylag geese….? I shall have to see if I can find out. Different looking to the Canada geese that usually inhabit the area..

One day I will find out and learn where they come from and what type they are?

Memory of mystery

Me a couple of years ago painting banners for our mystery play we did. These are pictures of the willow pattern from Spode that I was copying for the performance. We hold it on a Saturday towards the start of July. Unfortunately we could not hold it last year and only had an online event this year. I hope it’s reinstated when things get better.

I’m so busy with college work it would have been difficult to make the time but I love doing this. It makes me feel part of a community. I also miss all the friends I have through being part of it. X

Doodling again!

Today’s band of sketchers prompt is warning… So I drew something but it was wrong the traffic lights are in the middle of the road. .. So I turned it into another cartoon. Warning! Traffic light in wrong place! A bit bonkers today I know… Made with post it notes and felt pen.

Always check where traffic lights should go!

Socially distanced choir

We finally sang as a choir tonight. We were socially distanced. Each of us had a chair placed behind a CD. Two meters apart. We did some stretches and vocal exercises and suddenly we were singing together in reasonable harmony. We even sang in parts, soprano, tenor, alto and base. It was lovely! No zoom where all you can hear is yourself and the choir leaders. We started quietly but by the end we had some volume. Hearing each other gets the camaraderie going again.n

Next stop, singing in public at a canal day this coming Sunday. I hope we all stay well and the weather improves!

I can see mice?

It started as another feather post, then someone pointed out it looks like mice. (maybe eating a slice of banana?) I used a straightening tool to make the feather twist round and the layout to mirror it. I’m not sure how many more feather photos I can do before I get bored by the idea…. Or not!

I’ve also noticed that the feathers could look like wings beating up and down. You can see how the photos can be changed by using filters in Instagram.
