I hate hot weather, I eat too many ice creams! Sweet and sugary, tempting me, cooling me. But also not good for my body. I used to have a lolly maker you filled with cordial and water. Pop sticks in each deep, round cylinder and freeze. The sticks act as handles. Bobs your uncle.. Low calorie water ice lollies.
Hot day, hot even in the shade. And as we rehearsed in costume it felt hotter still…..
“Hello everyone, let’s get straight to it shall we…..” I’m narrating and I start the show. I only have a few lines but I ended up reading from the script because I just couldn’t keep the jumbled words in my head.
When I finally got home I had a hot cup of tea, ond then an ice cream! Weird combination but I just needed rehydration.
Two quiet days and now I’m exhausted again. I need shopping but I’m waiting for it to cool down. The weather app says 30°C likely tomorrow. Long term weather forecast is for 20°C and sunny with a light breeze next Saturday on Mystery day. Wish us luck.
Turned a block built stone wall on the back of the cottage scenery into a creepy cave today…. With the help of three other people. It was so good to get help. I’m physically shattered and would have struggled for days to get this done. But with a little help and much appreciation it’s done. It needs a bit of wood to support it. By the way it reminds me of Cezanne in a way. X
Abstract pattern. Is less more? Or can convoluted shapes be fabulous? It’s all about balance, nuance, things can still be beautiful even when they are strange. Pleasing to the eye. Artrage app and textures from photodirector. Simple and yet complex.
Mini paintings, abstract and flowery. When you’re not sure what to paint but you need to paint some work for our art groups little summer fayre.
Canvases this small cost £2.20 for two. So if I’m selling them and I’ve got to give 50% to the art group then I’d like to make 50 pence profit because the people coming don’t have much money. I’m glad I could get the canvases though about 1.5 inches by 2 inches. I love the challenge.
Another doodled character from the Penkhull Mystery Play this year. The White Witch. I’ve done three so far. I don’t think the people will actually look like this but I enjoy the creative challenge.
I went to a garden center a couple of days ago. It’s full of all sorts if stuff, a bit like temu in a big shed. To get to the plants you have to walk round lots of displays. There used to be a way through to avoid them but they’ve blocked the routes. If there was ever a fire I think we would be trapped. There’s jewellery, glass ware, pottery, clothes, shoes, houseplants, garden furniture and other stuff. Once you get to the plants there are a miriad of different garden plants (dinosaur included). I didn’t buy any as I need to sort my garden out first. On the way out we looked at toys and sweets and cakes. There were also three separate cafes/resteraunts. It was full of people, that’s where I think I caught this sore throat.
I always loved drawing cats in hats. I usually draw them in wizards hats. But this time I decided to drew something like a fascinator. It would be a close fitting felt hat with patterns and bits projecting up from it. I’ve played around in photodirector to give it a more textured feel.
