What is up with WordPress?

sketch-1551184385328_optimized

I want to reply to a friend who commented that some test results were good, which is great, but WordPress won’t let me reply. It keeps coming up with an error message. Something like ‘user cannot see your reply’ and ‘user approval not given’ or something like that. It’s very irritating when technology allows you to make friends over the Internet with people all over the world, then stops you communicating!

It might be something to do with my provider. I still have a ‘saving of draft failed.’ message that one of WordPress’s ‘happiness’ support workers could not resolve.

I’m not exactly sure what to do. This might be a one off between me and the other user, or it might be with everyone? We will see.

Hanging basket in November

I’m looking out at this today…. _20191104_111358

My hanging baskets are still in flower on 4th November! My Christmas cactus is coming into flower on the window ledge, global warming certainly is having an effect on plant life.

The baskets were planted up at a nursery in May and we have had them ever since. They have done really well. The plants are begonias I think, but there are other flowers in there still including fushias. I’m not emptying them till the frosts get them. It’s so nice to look out the window at some colour at this time of year.

Random tree

IMG_20191024_105519_549_optimized

Photo taken last Thursday in Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent. Spreading sideways, this tree seems to have had a haircut leaving all the horizontal branches but nothing hanging down. Also it’s still got a lot of leaves where the trees next to it are just about bare. It’s random because it’s just a street tree, the fence and road and car don’t really enhance the picture. It is all about horizontals I guess.

Colour

_20191030_160748

I love colour as you can see.

Colour is the best option for me.

Bright colours are very good.

Not just black and white could

grab my mind…

Without colour I am blind…

I love a spectrum of every hue.

Yellow, red, gold, bronze and blue.

Purple and orange fight to be seen,

Not to mention beautiful green.

So of I will go to paint again.

My palette with new colours, lain.

You’re welcome

I love blogging. Its almost two years since I started and I’ve got a few followers now. Each day I think what can I write about, and most days I come up with something, whether it’s about art, design, poetry, short stories or about science. My mind jumps around to various subjects, but that’s what kers me going. Perhaps I’m a frustrated teacher? I don’t know.

So Thank you everyone for taking the time to read and look at this blog. I probably post too much. I might slow down a bit?

Anyway there will no doubt be more.

Reblogging?

It’s not something I do very often, I think blogs should really be your own work, but a couple of times just recently I have reblogged. The reason? Because I really liked them and they are discussing things I don’t know. In the case of the science blog there is so much more in it about Daylight saving time than I ever imagined and in the case of the blog about living in China, I will never visit anywhere like that and we should all be willing to learn about different cultures. I hope you agree.

Choir practice

sketch-1544397813171_optimized

The choirs I’m inlearn mainly by repetition. We usually have the choir leader teaching us a line at a time. Some songs have simple repetitions, others have verses and choruses. We can sing in unison or are split into high, low and middle parts. We are kept in tune either with a melodion or a guitar. I actually find it harder to sing along with a guitar because it can be drowned out by our singing.

A new choir member asked how we can just start singing a song that we have never seen BEFORE. When that happens it’s usually because we have sung it in the past and it’s part of our old repertoire? Our song book is extensive and covers old and new songs and many languages including African songs, European and Indian.

I think joining a choir is one of the best things I have ever done.

Too many photos

Anyone who follows my blog know I illustrate it with my own images and not stock illustrations. But my images are a bit too large and I keep getting memory too low messages again.

Previously I paid extra to get more memory, but I really can’t keep doing that. I am not sure how to reduce the image sizes so all I can do is delete pictures off my earlier posts here. I’m not taking them off the site pages, but from the blog posts. I’ve several thousand to go through, and I don’t think it will seriously impact on the posts….

Chilly

_20190927_174057

And a bit damp. It’s 19.1°C in our living room and I’m contemplating putting a jumper on. I think my cat is chilly, he’s just come and sat on me and his sister wants a cuddle too. She sticks her claws in my leg and stretches up, but when I call her up she walks away. There are forecasts for rain tonight, thunder storms in the south east. If you want to look at where thunderstorms are look up blitzortung on Google. It’s a weather site that shows live tracking of thunderstorms.

Anyway that’s it from a cold and wet North Staffordshire…. X

More later.. Been a bit busy today….
