2014 Angel

Before I got a drawing tablet for my computer I used to draw with a mouse. This drawing was put on Facebook in 2014, but I’m sure I had a wacom tablet by then. I actually think it’s around ten years older and that I saved this image on one of the numerous times my hard drive went down. The picture must have been drawn on a basic program, but I can’t remember which. I know it’s a mouse drawing because of the wobbly lines…… I still like it…

Tree or decorations

Since we haven’t got a tree this Christmas I haven’t put any baubles or decorations up. But that didn’t stop me getting an old box of them out to draw. The #bandofsketchers prompt for Christmas Eve…. Now I’m having a caramel chocolate and a glass of port while watching ‘the day after tomorrow’ I guess they put it on because its full of snow…..

Surprise Apple

You don’t normally find apples still on trees at this time of year. But this was plucked from the back of an apple tree, that sits amongst lots of bushes, this afternoon. Never found one this late in the year before.

Speaking if late apples, hubby bought home four or five little crab apples from branches overlooking the canal on his walk last weekend. I told him not to bring more home as this will be food for small animals or birds over winter.

Acrosstick

Esther Chilton, who has a blog at WordPress, challenges us to write things to prompts. On a Monday it’s a limerick using a particular word (this week it was ‘Santa’ ) and then on a Thursday its telling a story in five words. The prompt today was ‘presents’.

I wrote these eight lines and included an eight letter word using the first letter of each line, just for fun.

Merry Christmas

Almost there

Three year old digital drawing. Dots and swirls! The closest to a tree I will have this year. The cats climbed up the last one so I’m not risking my old glass baubles. Plus my cats are bigger this year and with three instead of two… Disaster would be bound to occur.

Did I ever mention the Christmas eve my husband tripped over after too much beer and snapped the tree in half? About twenty years ago. I stayed up and tied it together with tinsel, rehung the baubles and but the lights back on it. When he got up in the morning he thought he had dreamt it happening!

Need to replace this!

The plastic catch inside my drivers door should look like this…..

But it now looks like this because it snapped. It’s hard to find a replacement. My friend has looked at ebay for me but there are lots of variations. At the moment all I’ve got to open it with is a cable tie I have to pull forward to actuate the lever. This was done by the nice man from the AA, who I have to say was here in a few minutes. I’ve booked it in to a garage and I am not scrapping the car for the want of one small catch, even if I have to import it! Watch this space.

Dover today

If you are going to Kent or Dover at the moment? Don’t! Lorries and trucks are stuck there because a new variant of Covid19 have been found in the South East of the country. Because of this the border with many countries have been closed. Trucks are not able to get home and so there are queues of them on the M20 and they are being parked up on old airport in Kent. They are parked I but with poor facilities, not many toilets and no food or water!

The worry is that even when the border is reopened there will be further problems as Brexitis about to happen at the end of this month. That means there may me further pfoblems and delays. I do wonder about the mentality of the English and often despair!

Presents

I’ve got a few local presents to deliver, but the ones to family who live far away are going to have to wait. My concern is that so much stuff is being posted that without special delivery things may go astray. I sent a card to a friend in Yorkshire a week ago with a little gift, he still hasn’t got it? It’s annoying because I can’t send him another one.

Life is changing. It looks like the tier we are in, in our part of the country, is likely to increase. We are having an announcement this afternoon. This is now getting frustrating. We could have been in lockdown for longer, but the government wants to be matey, friendly, lenient. So mote people have died. Around 68000 so far in the UK.

Not the merriest of Christmas’s
