Tell everyone!

You get some great, amazingly fantastic news. What’s the first thing you do?

I want the world!

Another of my digital drawings

My background is that I come from a very talkative town, always willing to share our stories and jokes. I came to my current city over 40 years ago and found the residents were warm and friendly but had a different take on life.

That doesn’t stop me sharing news with everyone. Recently that’s been a lot of bad news but I’d love for it to be great news instead. I live in hope that I will be able to say one day that this is my news, it’s great, and I want everyone to know. After all if a trouble shared is a trouble halved, then maybe good news shared is amazing news doubled?

Getting rid of clutter

Something on your “to-do list” that never gets done.

I promise myself

To get rid of clutter

But it piles up

More comes through the door

And more and more

Not neat and tidy

Not filed in folders

But piled in boxes

On cupboards

On a chair

On the sofa

In bags.

Oh heavens

Will I ever declutter?

Flying

Never flown

Never will

Can you make me?

Not unless I’m asleep

Completely unconscious

The world blotted out?

But what about

My carbon flight print?

I would not fly far

Maybe, island hop, to Skye?

Perhaps I could hanglide?

Or take a hot air balloon

Over my home town.

Or an airship blimp?

Parachute strapped to my back

Or wings glued on like Icarus?

Don’t get too close to the sun

But I would have my eyes closed

Vertigo engaged.

I would rather NOT fly.

List

Because of everything that’s been happening my life recently I have got behind on #bandofsketchers prompt so here is a list of some of the things I’ve missed. I hope to feel enthusiastic again but I have a health issue that needs investigating and I feel stuck again. One step forward two steps back. All being well everything will be OK. Fingers crossed, I’ve got enough worries without something else coming up!

A camera!

What’s the coolest thing you’ve ever found (and kept)?

We were cycling home on our tandem one summer evening, when suddenly we turned round in the road. I had no idea what was going on, it was a narrow country road and it surprised me.

We pulled up and my hubby started looking on the grass verge. There was a camera just lying there! We didn’t know what to do, so we took it home (we were in the middle of the countryside), with the idea of seeing if there was a film inside and getting it developed if there was. We would try and get it back to its owners somehow? This was about 30 or so years ago before we had the Internet, so there wasn’t much hope of finding its owners.

We sent the film off, but it came back blank, it must have been lost when someone put a new film in, maybe put it on top of a car and forgot to move it when they drove off.

I have to say I had forgotten all about it until I saw this prompt, and now I feel guilty for not reuniting it with it’s owners.
