Trying to draw trees

Two seperate apps, Sketcher free and Autodesk. I don’t often draw with these, they have different tools and I’m not really up to speed with them. But you never learn if you don’t practice. Also if I don’t use my tablet it gets clogged up with updates….so here they are, a couple of practice pieces,

Memory from May

She still plays, she’s got a little fatter, I think it’s lockdown ‘spread’, I probably give the cats too many treats. When you are in a lot of the time and they ask for food, it’s easy to be lax about portion sizes. Plus the house is warm and so are the cats so they are not expending much energy. Still all three get on and seem happy. X

Digital crocosmia

Digital crocosmia

I like playing with images and these are two versions of a digital drawing using different options in photodirector.

This was my basic sketch in ArtRage oils which I drew over with Sketch app.

It might not be very good but it shows what you could do to make it more interesting….

Layers

This picture was done using a photo of a cover if a colouring book, then duplicating and twisting and mirroringbit in the Layout app. Finally I changed the texture in photodirector, then added a background of starry nebulae and added a grunge layer to it (both in photodirector). The more you play, the more you learn!

Convolutions

A digital drawing enhanced in photodirector to increase the abstract convolution of it. I have a feeling it reminds me of an Elephants tooth biting surface. But most things have resemblances to other things.

I changed the colours which were originally reds with blueish stripes. I made the colours more balanced. I had fun with it…

Landscape

I love playing with things as you know. I add textures or add colours, mirror things or duplicate them. Art is exciting. Not every image is good, some work, others don’t. But playing with things helps you learn new things. Scientists experiment, that’s how they changed from Alchemists to chemist’s or physicists or biologists or mathematicians. They took things and learnt how they worked. That’s basically what I hope I do. Maybe not as logically or not done in an organised way, but I try.

My indoor boy cat

While I’m caring for an abandoned cat I must also continue to care for my other two. They have both been patient with me but I do feel guilty especially for my boy cat who loves to be loved. I think he’s a little jealous of our interloper and because he’s smaller than outdoor boy he sometimes takes it out on his sister. There’s been a lot more chasing and play fighting than before. That they have been so calm about the new cat comes, I think, from living with eighteen other cats (I took them in as rescue cats). I think they will all integrate, just wondering what we will do if we go away on holiday.
