I’ll just leave these three here. I do like messing about. Goodnight all.

I played with this photo as the Huchera leaves look like copper sheets. The little sprigs of green in the centre look like tiny green people. I would really like a macro lens so I could take some very close shots of animals including insects, and also plants, together with things like lichen. Whatever I do, I find I want to do more. I deliberately take off centre pictures to make interesting compositions. I like trying to make patterns out of trees and clouds too…..

A plant on the kitchen windowledge is duplicated in the Layout app. The result seems to be a strange weird alien face, but it’s just a Christmas canvas plant with spiky leaves. This is what I do when I can’t see and go down for a coffee in the early morning!

Here’s another one. They really do create impossibly strange weird structures.
Anyway, only got four hours sleep. Might treat myself to a nap!

Playing with photo editing in my layout app. When you have a subject like a cat you can duplicate and mirror the image and make something interesting happen. Choose to mirror half the face and you end up with a strong stare. I could have made her nose look more natural, but I prefer the odd symmetry this photo gives me.
Clouds tonight, tiny specs of cloud and long mares tails. About 8pm tonight. The colours were beautiful and gentle. I think these clouds come before rain, so it might be thundering tomorrow.

At about six o’clock I saw this out of the landing window. A similar sort of cloud but without the whispy bits.
Looking up at clouds is fascinating. If you are interested you could look up the cloud appreciation society. There is a Facebook page about it.
Took a few photos of wild flowers (or weeds) this morning. Things for bees to feed on. But I didn’t see any bees.
The city seems to be full of plants pushing themselves up through cracks in the pavement and along the kerbs of roads. I also saw that green areas which were once lawns now covered in wild grasses and flowers with just a meter round the edge cut back. I did notice that the local main road that was covered in wild flowers a couple of weeks ago have now been weedkiller. The worry is that any bees that sipped from them when they were sprayed will have been poisoned. Madness. I’d rather have weeds than dead bees.

I went out to meet someone and saw a bank of weeds at the end of the carpark. There were some interesting flowers amongst the plants and the bees and hover flies were drinking at them. I recognised Himalayan balsam and Convolvulus, Dock weed and Teasle, Thistles and Ragweed (I think its called). I think it’s amazing how plants can push up through tarmac, live in walls, grow on cliff faces. Life will prevail!
Our garden has paths through it now, down to the pond at the bottom. We also seem to have a spring coming up in it. The trees have grown massively because they are so well watered. I Saw a couple of house sparrows picking up bird food on the ground this evening after a long cold day of rain. I went out when it brightened up and took some photos. So good to have a woodland glade in the middle of a city!
The abandoned cat who is virtually ours. He definitely has adopted us. He’s wheedled his way into our lives. He gets fed regularly, sleeps in a bed in a shed, and comes and sits on your lap when he feels like it. I will try and get his microchip altered. His owners went away and left him. He would be in the house, but I have two rescue cats already. I’m getting them vaccinated next week and then we can try and introduce them to each other. Things could get difficult.
I do love him, he’s worked his way into my heart. These photos of him were taken in the garden this afternoon.

I started this month asking friends to share images that could be cropped into hexagonal shapes. Most of them have been added and I will share it next week. The idea was to have the selection finished by the end of July. I’m just hoping a couple more people come on board. I am a bit uncertain how good it will be to look at. But the individual images should work well together. Watch this space?
