Ee by gum!

Not sure what ‘ee by gum’ means, I think it’s a polite way of saying ‘oh by god’ without blaspheming. I know it’s a phrase from Yorkshire. Anyway this photo of my hubbies flat cap hung on a little apple tree along with a lamp just said ‘northern’ to me. Today the sunshine has gone, its raining, so everything is getting wet. I’m still feeling a bit ill so I’ve just decided to have another quiet day. There are things I should be getting on with but I don’t feel up to it.

Ee by gum, in Yorkshire dialect… I feel tired, hope I feel better soon….

Blog now, pay later…

Photo of milk chocolates that I was given today. Manipulated in Instagram and Photodirector. I shouldn’t eat them, I’ve had a couple ‘to sooth my throat’, hubby’s had some too…

Then, we’ll you know what I’m like…

Elaborated the photo by duplicating it in Layout. I like the way the strawberry chocolates somehow turned into mouth 👄 shapes. I rotated the images a few times before I came up with this set. I chose the title, by the way, because I’m not meant to have sugar!

Six years ago…

Bright flowers, photo taken six years ago. I think it’s a rhododendron, glowing like an orange sun. Talk about flower power. I’m not going to try and duplicate or mirror this photo because it’s really stand alone.

This would have been taken at the Dorothy Clive Garden on the Shropshire, Staffordshire, Cheshire border. It has a quarry garden at the top of its slope which is full of beautiful rhododendrons in late spring and early summer. Do visit if you can. Visiting has been limited due to the virus but I do know they are open and you can find out more from their website.

Used layout app to create this image of pink busy lizzies and a metal plant support. I just have fun playing with images. The pink and green are nicely contrasting colours, the smooth surface of the plant support adds more interest. The symmetry of the mirrored leaves and stems complete impossible and intricate patterns. They are natural and unnatural in equal amounts.

Big sink

A few months ago I cracked our bathroom sink when I was dusting the bathroom cabinet. I’d knocked an ornament off it and it landed in the sink causing a spiderweb of cracks.

We just had it replaced. I wanted something with edges at the sides to stop water flowing over and onto the floor (hubby likes to splash water a lot). I decided on a square sink with sides, but I didn’t realise how big it was going to be! I laughed when I saw this. It could be a font! Anyway it’s OK, it works, it’s not bad. It’s just a bit big…..
