You need hands

I saw this today, a clothes rail that had hand shapes to hook coats or hats on. I spoke to our choir leader at teatime and  as we were chatting I mentioned I liked the funky design…. Turned out her ex husband had made it years ago! It was a commission made for a business man, but when his firm closed it came back to the Barts building and is used for costumes.

My question, how on earth did I pick up on this link without ever knowing about it intuition?

Learning a tune!

A few weeks ago. I usually sing alto at choir practice but recently I’ve been trying to explore my voice. It’s helping to keep me going dispite the Parkinsons disease and shortness of breath. Sometimes I sing up higher, as a slightly squeeky soprano, and also as in this photo as a bass if they are short of singers. Here me and the only bass singer that night were trying not to be distracted by the altos tune which was very similar. My friend was laughing at us and took this photo of us trying to avoid hearing the other tune.

Trying to do a self portrait

Not right yet, eyes too close together, my nose is too long. But it’s getting there slowly. I need to try and make the eyes slightly smaller too. I tend to paint self portraits straight on although I might try and do a three quarter profile one instead as it can be more dynamic. This took about an hour and a half. In acrylic on canvas.

Lovely flower

I don’t remember taking this photo. I think it might be from a free photo library. It’s in my media files. Anyway I just want to start planting up my pots with lovely flowers like this. Ideally I’d like a friend to be here to keep an eye on me and perhaps help with heavier pots. I love creating a colourful garden in the yard for the summer. Fingers crossed I can still do it.
