Through the trees

DSC_1643_optimized

Through the trees there is light,

Through the trees there is air,

Through the trees there is water

but without the trees there is no life

no birds, no animals

no bears, no deer,

Without trees the air gets dirty

It gets dry.

Forests and jungles are our lungs,

life evolved in the sea,

came onto the land,

And in the forests of the land

there are more bugs, animals and possibly birds

than are found in the long grass

or desert plains

or high hills and mountains.

Save the forests, save the trees, save the world ..

Megha’s world Tuesday writing prompt “light”

FB_IMG_1550707371087

I wrote this poem in response to the prompt “light”. I am not sure how to do ping backs so I will put a link of it on Megha’s page. I am not sure if I’m doing it right. Anyway here is the poem:

Photons, floating through space

At breakneck speed.

Tinier than

The tiniest seed…

Particles or waves

Does anyone know?

It took scientists like Einstein

To try and show

That light is a constant

But only in space

In air it actually

Slows its pace

(slightly)

It pings and zings

It refracts and glows

Holograms shimmer

Insubstantial as mist.

Light is strengthened

and made to Lase

A coherent beam

That can burn and amaze

Light is part of the greatest equation

E=MC2 bright burst

radiation.

Look again

When you visit somewhere it’s always interesting to look at odd little views, like the cupola seen through a broken window of a derelict green house, or mirrors placed under helibores so you can see their open flowers that usually hang down and hide their beauty. Smoke coming out if the little gift shop chimney (the shop had a warm wood fire burning in the hearth) a picture of a small pool. The fountain was not running. A sculpture of a jumping fish, a grey handle on a grey background. Light through the clouds and a curved turf covered roof to some sort of culvert.

Why not look at those odd sights and take a picture, they may not make a perdect composition but they may spark some thought.

Moon

sketch-1550491668382The moon danced last night

Leaping across the sky

It sang of silver shadows

Falling far and wide

The moon rang with music

Notes of heavenly tunes

Rising and falling

moon bows shining bright

The moon smiled last night

As it travelled overhead

Bathing the world with glimmers

And frosty gauzy white

The moon breathed last night

Cool breezes soft and sweet

Gentle dreaming sighing

Sleep in silent flight.

Bubbles

dsc_0984

I fill a large plastic bottle of water from the tap to water my houseplants. It had the advantage that I can reach some of the pots that are a bit out of reach for me.

This morning I saw all these tiny bubbles in the water. Air must have been dissolved in the water and had condensed on slightly rougher places on the surface of the plastic.

The blues and greens are from the tiles and paintwork in the kitchen. The shape of the bottle, with its swirling curves, adds to the interest. The bottle also acted as a lens and I like the contrast in the focus, making the bubbles in and out of focus.

Dawn

I just accidentally clicked on the new editor and didn’t understand it at all. My photos uploaded straight away but then I couldn’t work out how to add text? Has anyone else used it yet?

Anyway ..

Dawn,

Bright sky, blue moon, sharp stars.

Pink and yellow sparkle,

Flat blue and violet.

No clouds this morning,

Just smoke trails in the blue.

Azure hue, tinge of grey.

Twigs and branches scratch holes

Through into the night.

Fingers of dark pulling down the dark,

Dawn into Dusk.

Canal

Untitled_008

Yesterday I was chatting with an artist from Spode. He had done a lovely painting of trees on the macclesfield canal, with light streaming through the leaves. I didn’t take a photo  but it looked a bit like this drawing. With blocks of pale green and yellow shining through the vegetation. I can only give a slight idea of what it looked like with this technique. The artist had used a Palette knife to create depth and slanted shadows .

I realise I can’t get an accurate representation. But it gives you an idea of how it looks.
