Triangles

I can’t stop experimenting. This time I drew overlapping triangles. Am I boring you? I think this kind of drawing is a meditation. It’s a way of ignoring the the world. Taking the time to place each shape and space them evenly apart. Does anyone else doodle or draw? It helps my mental health. I’m very visual and I have to create. I can’t stop….

Peeling paint

What do you see? I see an archipelago of small islands in a deep blue sea. I think there are rocky shores and shallow waters around the islands.

Or it simply could be blue paint peeling off an old metal door. You can see the metal surface is made up of crystals, or perhaps its a decorative feature on the metal doors surface.

Or it could be strange clouds on a distant blue planet. Looking down from above or up at an azure sky.

Imagination is fun.

Yes, Prime minister

Satire, a wonderful thing. I’m watching an old episode of ‘Yes, Prime minister.’ it’s probably forty years old and it still speaks to what’s going on in the UK at the moment. Boris Johnson has been fined for breaking Covid rules, and he will not resign although if he breaks the rules he is expected to do so. Now he’s changed the rules so that he only has to apologise (again). The man is almost more of a ridiculous figure than the Prime minister in the comedy programme!

Tree arch

After I drew the laburnum arch I looked through the photos I took at the weekend and realised I could have drawn this instead. I don’t remember seeing it before, but it is quite striking. One thing about the UK is the greenery. Once spring and summer arrives the greens burst out. Yes we do get drought conditions, but we are very lucky compared with many places.

Ouch

He got a bit of a scratch on his nose from somewhere. I’ve wiped it with some washing up liquid and salt water. He’s a big cat but gentle. He doesn’t fight much, just stays still and sometimes gets scratched. The look in his eyes is very loving. I think he’s a really sweet cat, but slightly bonkers! He purrs loudly at my other two cats and they all get on together. X

Molecules

Just playing with pattern and colour. I will probably do more to this digitally. It is a drawing made with felt pens. Each shape is linked, where possible with a line. The centre is more complex, then the outer lines act as barriers or walls. When I’m doing this I set myself simple rules to follow so the image doesn’t end up too chaotic.

Bluebell time

Soon to be over. That must of blue flowers will be gone. I’ve suddenly fallen in love with the romance of flowers! I don’t think I noticed them much last year and now it’s a revelation to see them in bloom. We have some bluebells but they are pink and white too. I think ours are the Spanish variety with blue Bell flowers all around the stem which is more upright and the leaves are wider and strappier. They are worth commenting on because of their gorgeous colour.
