I realised I’d taken a photo of the top of the tree too. It’s quite tall. A nice canopy, not spreading too far out, so beautiful and delicate.
As I say, I feel like ordering one. The neighbours might not appreciate it! It can go with the small Eucalyptus tree we have in the centre of the garden? I’ll see.
Seen on an allotment. This tree with strange leaves. They were changing colour and may be gone next week as we are having a cold, wet and windy spell, it may even be frosty in the morning. I think it might be a Gingko?
Yes it is! Gingko Bilboa. Apparently the tree that time forgot according to Mr Google. Now I know I might order one from t’internet as my Yorkshire friend says.

Trilling his song.
The wind floats leaves
Wafted from branches
Zig zagging down.
A sudden breeze
Twirls and swirls
In a mini tornado
The gust stops
Leaves settle.
My gaze settles

When you make a collage of a photo you never know what you are going to get. This one seems to have animal faces at the centre, but it’s only fallen leaves on pavement. The effect of seeing things that are made up like this, or animals in clouds, faces in buildings, is called Pareidolia.
Dying, falling, asleep
Red, green, brown
Gold and yellow
Pallid light breaks
Over crisping leaves.
Frosty, foggy, cold,
Mist and mizzel.
Wet rain drips
From sullen trees.
Silver birch trees are much whiter than they used to be when I was a child. They still have dark marks on their trunks, like upward facing arrows. But the dirty grey bark of polluted air in the past decades has seemingly reduced. But particulates still float in the air, and carbon dioxide is increasing, so maybe the trees will get bigger as they absorb the gas?
This beautiful example is starting to lose it’s leaves. Shown against the white and blue of showery sky.
A photo from 3 years ago morphed a bit more by using incollage and Instagram. I chose the circular template in WordPress to finish it off. It could be a blue glazed ceramic plate. Autumnal in feel but also frosty. I also used the AI style effect in photodirector to get the textured patterning.
Most leaves have changed colour
It’s November and they are hanging on
But a storm is coming..
Leaves will spin and twist…
Then fall like snowflakes to the ground.
To be blown along by the wind
Forming drifts
Where hedgehogs can hide,
Damp leaf mold will rot and spread
Nutrients back into the soil.
Leaves anew, next year, to feed..
So the cycle of life turns…

Anyway I believe this was drawn in sketchbook app with the stylus that comes with the tablet. It was clearly a quick sketch…
