Somewhere new

A new arts and craft centre offering a place to sell your work and also art workshops has opened in Campbell Place in Stoke, Stoke-on-Trent.

I had the pleasure to meet Phil today, who is running the Centre. He took some of my paintings to display. There are some interesting art works in there includung work by Phil himself. I think it’s great that something like this has opened in Stoke. It makes Campbell place a bit more interesting. Good luck to him and congratulations for having the spirit and enthusiasm to open up. Open Wednesdays to Sundays, it’s initially opening for two years. It’s got a Facebook page under Serendiparty arts and crafts centre. There are events and workshops listed there.

B(u)y me for Christmas! Exhibition.

I’m really pleased to have some of my paintings up at the Brampton museum and art gallery from 16.11.19 to early January 2020. This is an opportunity for local artists to sell their work in the weeks coming up to Christmas. If you feel like having a look I’d recommend it, there’s lots to see and to buy.

It’s going to be a busy few weeks. Not helped by my having a fall at the weekend. I haven’t painted as much as I wanted and I’ve hardly been out of the house. But I mustn’t let it stop me trying to get things done over the next week or so.

I’m going to do some more green, or snowy men, try and get some cards printed and get some glass jewellery finished off..

After extending my exhibition at the Waiting room gallery it finished today. I’ve collected the paintings and one at least is going to a new home.

It was a pleasure to work with Frank Foy and Allison Dias who run the gallery. Despite unforseen problems they were very helpful and I look forward to working with them again.

The waiting room gallery is welcoming to artists, it is reasonably priced and they have good knowledge of art. Visit if you can.

Orme Art exhibition..

I got my paintings up at the Brampton museum and art gallery now until the 10th November. I’m part of a group exhibition with fellow artists from the Orme Art group based in Newcastle-under-Lyme.

I’m quite happy that they have hung my Mars painting upside down! After all in space there is no right way up! The art is along a corridor in the museum but they are well displayed and lit. If you are around you can always take a look. It’s at the Brampton museum and art gallery in Newcastle-under-Lyme .

The Waiting Room, longport

Called in at the waiting room gallery in Longport to have a chat and look at the new work in there. I was interested in the memories of Longport exhibition, which was asking for people to write about things that they remember from there. I remembered taking my bike which had damage to the headset to a bike mechanic called Lance. I took the bike in, he lost it from his shop in trubshaw cross. I went back a few times, sorry no bike. I visited again, after a year he found the bike frame but no wheels! I ended up buying another bike, which was too large for me so I sold it and bought a second hand car! After a few more months the wheels were replaced, but too late, I was so unfit I never really cycled again. Apparently the repair man didn’t really think women mattered, so the bike was not important. Now I’m unfit and sad this happened about thirty years ago. I could have stayed well… But that’s life x

The waiting room is an interesting place, they have some good art in there, they are also working along with Longport Station, I’m looking forward to working with them x
