I didn’t cry on New Years day.
I didn’t weep at all
I felt sad and tired
But I’d run out of tears today.
Screwed my eyes up…
Nothing came,
No lachrymose rivulets
Running down my cheeks
I drew a doodle
Of a woman crying
That was all I could do.
New paintings and regular art updates.

I’m a cat person but I suddenly decided to doodle a dog. I must be starting to feel better after covid. I somehow feel like drawing again.
I’m using the Artrage app and the simple flood fill and spray tools. I’ll try and do something more complex soon. I need to catch up with my #bandofsketchers prompts too.

An image of a punk woman came up on my Facebook memories today. I decided to draw another, older profile, thinking of the years that have passed since those days. I had done them both in the Artrage app. I then added texture and an overlay in photodirector. I’m trying to imagine it printed on old newspaper. Whatever I do, I have to draw.
What’s your favorite cartoon?
If I shouldn’t use this image I will delete it.

This was my favourite cartoon whan I was growing up. The stories were funny and cheeky. Asterix and his huge best friend Obelix would take a magic potion if they were going to fight the Romans so that they would have massive strength and defeat their opponents.
The tribe of Celts they lived with were a motley band, the Chief was scared that the sky was going to fall on his head, so his guards had to hold a large sheid over his head to stop it landing on him.
There was a wizard with a long white beard that made the potion. I think he was called Get-a-fix?
Obelix was a massive figure and would carve standing stones and carry them around. He was always trying to get extra potion.
I loved the books and would draw the characters endlessly to try and get my skills at copying images honed. At one stage I think I had all of them.

Today’s #bandofsketchers prompt was health. Skipping is good for health so I did a quick sketch of someone skipping. I can’t skip myself though! Artrage app drawing.

Thursdays #bandofsketchers prompt was dream. I love horses and this is my dream of one. Another Artrage app drawing. (It might be more of a nightmare than a dream!)

I tried to draw my money plant with Artrage app. Its not very healthy. I’ve made it look better in the drawing. I’m thinking of banishing it to the summerhouse. ##bandofsketchers prompt potted plant.

Using photodirector to alter my painting that I completed today. Photodirector can change the texture and shapes of my paintbrush strokes, adding uniformity and chaos at the same time, while I learn what I like, and which editing tool to use. I gave the original painting away. But at least I have a good photo…

Foot in leaves, #bandofsketchers prompt was feet for Sunday 11th November 2023. I decided to imagine a foot stepping into crispy dry autumn leaves. Digital drawing done in sketchbook app and photodirector, I used Instagram to improve the colours.

An old #bandofsketchers prompt I missed, I’ll make a bargain with you. Accept this as a bargain basement picture of abstract autumn leaves, and I can move on from this prompt!
