A patch of sunshine

The Sun is shining in through the side window now the trees on the East side of the garden have lost their leaves. The Sun rises further South East in the autumn and winter. Its shining on the ‘great stack’ of knitted toys. They are usually on the setee but I moved them so people can sit on it. Behind is one if our numerous book cases. I would love it if it was neatly stacked, colour coordinated like they are on design shows. But that’s not what a working bookcase looks like! The top shelves are rarely touched and I sometimes find cobwebs up there. I’m sure the ornaments on the top shelf up near the ceiling will be covered in dust. But there is too much art supplies in boxes in front of it…

Disorganised, chaotic, too much stuff. Magpie, collector of ornaments, canvases, paints, visual memorabilia. I’m an artist, I can’t help myself.

Exhibition ends tomorrow

It’s amazing how fast a month goes. The last day of the Orme Group’s show at the Brampton museum and art gallery in Newcastle-under-Lyme is tomorrow. Sunday 10th of November 2019. The paintings are in the corridor as you turn left at reception. So if you haven’t been and you would like to see what we get up to on a cold and wet Sunday, nows your chance.

There is a good selection of artists and ainting there. Maybe you will also find an early Christmas present. Maybe even have a walk round the grounds and have a look at the autumn leaves if there are any left on the trees.

Necklace

DSC_2340

One of my glass pieces. I didn’t have room to put them on the stall today. They are quite chunky so I’ve done some smaller pieces which are going to have rings put on them to hang off chains, laces, or ribbons.

Being creative is hard work, but I enjoy it too much to be bothered about that. I just keep doing things. I wonder whether I can continue for a few more years?

Craft fair news

Finished tree decorations…. I think they are OK. I’ve tried to make them festive. I’ve attached ribbons so they can hang off a tree. Well I will be trying to sell them at the craft fair I’m doing in the morning…. More to do.. I’m trying to do a painting of Frost. I’ve used lots of metallic paint, I think it’s in need of more detail though. _20191108_220603

Pallette peel

Acrylic paint peeled out of the tub I use to mix my paint. This is the underside. Yes I do like using bright colours. Also metallic shades. There is something about shiny paint that enthralls me..

IMG_20191108_184612and you can make interesting bright patterns that could be used on things like phone and tablet covers. All it takes is rotating the images and joining them together. Bright and breezy x.

Lost necklace?

Someone wants to buy one of the glass necklaces I made. She wants a definite one. But in the time period since she saw it and asked me to keep it she can’t remember which one it is. I did wrap it up but I don’t know if I put it on display again at my last craft fair, in which case I might be wrong. I want to be a helpful seller. I care about people getting what they asked for. I hope I’ve found it!
