A creature?

Twisting the pattern I drew as a doodle seems to create a strange creature reflected in a mirrored surface. There could be other alien creatures lurking in there. I enjoyed doing this. I had some fun with it. I could make three more versions, choosing different corners to match up in the middle. I think this is my favourite.

Seated abstract

Seated figure. Mark making sketch drawn in the middle of the night when I couldn’t sleep because of the pain in my leg. I tried to draw a chain like pattern and to see what arrived on the page. I do think it looks interesting and I might add some rusty colours to give it a metallic feel. I think I will do a few more drawings using patterns to make them.

Contour 4

Drawn this morning then mirrored and played with in photodirector. The idea is to draw a contour line around ink marks that have bled through from the previous page in my sketchbook. The initial drawing took a couple of hours, the duplication and mirrored images a few minutes. This is a combination of two lots of three images.

Soon I’ll be scenery painting…

Panto rehearsal started tonight. I’ve offered to help paint the scenery again and I might get a few lines to speak. It’s been a couple of years since we did it because of covid.

This is a picture of me painting a banner for a mystery play that we did a few years ago (based on the willow pattern). I love getting involved in these projects.

Feeling owlish

Finger drawn owl

Using the digital drawing app on my phone I just did this. There is no chance of it being celtic as its a finger drawing and my arm shakes too much to draw straight or neatly curved lines.
