Today’s #bandofsketchers prompt was grapes. Imagining a bunch of grapes and trying to draw them is hard! But I tried x it’s a pencil crayon drawing and so I added the pencil as part of the sketch.

New paintings and regular art updates.

Today’s #bandofsketchers prompt was Flight. This is a digital finger painting. I used artrage oils a free app I downloaded onto my phone. There is a bigger version but you have too pay for it. Finger painting is hard but I like the oily texture this app creates. Got to try other things than felt pens. X

Sunday’s #bandofsketchers prompt was garden. Our garden is overgrown even though half the leaves are off the trees. We have Ivy and Holly growing up and although the hedge seems to be dying off we are trying to plant native shrubs instead of privet.

#bandofsketchers prompt on Thursday was mountain, instead of my usual felt pen drawing I created layers of sketching over an initial photo that I had put through some filters on my phone.
Today’s #bandofsketchers prompt, vase. I drew a vase in wax crayons and felt pens. I was hoping to get more of a wax resist effect but when that didn’t work I drew some outlines around the patches of colour on the vase. I also put it through photodirector to change the texture.

Thursdays #bandofsketchers prompt was socks. I don’t know if these exist, so if they don’t this idea is my copyright ©. Canal and bottle oven socks. The ideal present for someone who loves industrial archaeology, is interested in the Trent and Mersey canal and needs to keep their feet warm!

Today’s #bandofsketchers prompt was snail. I remember Brian the snail from the Magic Roundabout children’s TV programme, which I watched in the 1970’s. But this is Mike the snail. I decided to write a limerick for him.
“There was a snail called Mike,
Who decided to go for a hike!
He slid cross the table
To see his friend Mable
I saw him and shouted out YIKES!

Today’s #bandofsketchers prompt was ‘random’. Random cat drawing, they are so able to almost tie themselves in knots! I just realised the dots could be like that game ‘twister’! Felt pen and black ink fine line pen.

Today’s #bandofsketchers prompt was history. I decided to draw the pool at Bodnant Gardens, a house and gardens run by the National Trust near, Llandudno in North Wales. Its well known for its beautiful laburnum walk and many flowering shrubs and plants. The upper part near the house has lawns and perennial plants while the garden slopes down to a river and has lovely wooded areas.

Sunday’s #bandofsketchers prompt was Myth. Oh what to do? I am in love with gryphons, unicorns, winged horses and many other things, but as my most recent study was about dragons, I chose to draw one. I started out with three pens held together to try and create a triple image, but the middle pen had dried out. So I finished off with two. If you look carefully you can see the outline of two other eyes below the ones I have outlined. Then I coloured it in with metallic felt pens. I might do more to it but this is good enough as a sketch.
