#bandofsketchers?

What’s happened? I’ve been ill again and I haven’t had the energy or will to draw. I’m behind on these prompts. I have ideas but the sketchpad is across the room and I can’t make myself go and pick it up. I think I’m a bit overwhelmed. I don’t think the cold, wet, grey weather we have been having has helped. Shivering and shaking is not conducive to drawing and sketching. Oh I must not moan, but sometimes you just get stuck. Bad mood and memories don’t help, I guess I’m a bit blocked in my creativity. Sunshine might help.

Today’s #bandofsketchers prompt was white. I could have done snow, but by the time I’d seen the prompt it had mainly melted. Its supposed to come back but I just decided to imagine a white ball of string.

Sundays #bandofsketchers prompt was Invisible. I imagine the invisible man would have to be naked if he wants to wander about. Or would have to wear bandages or makeup. There was a series on TV with David McCallum. If he drank you might see the coffee going into his stomach-Etc! Until it was actually absorbed. I got the stomach too high up in this sketch.

Today’s #bandofsketchers prompt was jewel. I made up a jewel. I was going to draw a ring but the stone turned into more of a micro mosaic. I titled it jewellery by mistake. Its a big lump of a necklace but it was fun to draw! Another felt pen drawing.

I tried to draw E=mc2….., Einsteins equation. It was the only formula apart from H2O I could think of! This was for Thursday #bandofsketchers prompt. I would have liked to have done a less cartoonish representation.

Today’s #bandofsketchers prompt was Orange which could be orange peel or orange flames, using various shades of orange and gold. I was going to add blue to the background as its opposite orange on the colour wheel. I love swirling and spirals so that’s where the pattern comes from.

Sundays #bandofsketchers prompt was cuts. This was a head scratcher! I thought of a paper cut and decided to go a bit surreal. Instead of the paper cutting my finger I drew my hand cutting through a page of my sketchbook. Pastle colour felt pens and silver metallic pen.

Today’s #bandofsketchers prompt was Vacant. I tried to draw an imagined pub, with half timbers, closed down and to let on a canal towpath. I would love to find somewhere like this. A quiet drink on a Sunday afternoon… Its a bit skewiff because I was holding the sketch pad at an angle. Felt pens.

Tuesdays #bandofsketchers prompt was bird. This is based on the mad drawings of birds I drew as a child. I later found out about the potters the Martin Brothers? Who did salt glazed ugly birds!
